Techland announces that it'll be sharing more news about Dying Light 2 later this week, with the studio holding a live stream in a few days' time.

With the game being indefinitely delayed last year, fans are eager to hear more about Dying Light 2, with Techland remaining fairly tight-lipped about when the zombie slaughtering follow-up will hit shelves. However, it seems they won't have to wait much longer for news on the upcoming sequel, with the studio announcing today that it's revealing more about the title on May 27.

Planned as part of a Twitch live stream set to air at 12:00 PM PT / 3:00 PM ET, Techland sent a cryptic message and short video to various media outlets inviting them and their fanbase to join the broadcast. Gematsu was one of the first to upload the video, which captures a timelapse of an overgrown brick wall that, at night, displays the message "are you dying 2 know more?" when illuminated with UV lighting. Fans of the first Dying Light will even recognize the sound of the terrifying volatiles in the background, with the enemy type only emerging at night in the original game.

It appears some fresh tidbits about Dying Light 2 are on the way, potentially offering new details, a closer look at gameplay, and announcements surrounding the game's release. It's interesting the developers have decided to show off Dying Light 2 prior to E3, which is set to take place between June 12 and June 15.

Players have gotten several updates about the game since it returned to the public eye earlier this March, with Techland answering questions regarding its gameplay, the central character, ties to the first Dying Light, and more. However, very little gameplay has been shown, with the studio only debuting a short clip in its last significant Dying Light 2 update.

Back then, players got a few glimpses of the game's parkour system, apocalyptic world, melee combat, and range of haunting zombie enemies. Fans will be hoping to see more on May 27, with Techland hopefully having a meaty new look at what the sequel has to offer.

Dying Light 2 hasn't had the smoothest of roads to release so far, with Techland having to delay the sequel indefinitely last year. In the months since, the studio has admitted it revealed the game too early, clarifying that it wasn't in development hell like fans had speculated but needed more work than the game's announcement might've suggested.

This was following reports that the work environment at Techland had been hostile, with ten staff members telling The Gamer that the studio's CEO, Pawel Marchewka, was a bully and that poor management had stifled the game.

Dying Light 2 is currently in development and will release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
