Today, Capcom hosted a special Monster Hunter Digital Event to show off more Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin gameplay, and to reveal the new content coming to Monster Hunter Rise in the 3.0 title update. The upcoming update for the game will be adding two new monsters, a new ending to further advance the story, and a slew of miscellaneous bug fixes.
The two new monsters that will be added to the game are Crimson Glow Valstrax and Apex Zinogre; however, there could be a surprise monster or two available in the patch, as Capcom secretly added Bazelgeuse to the game without even mentioning it during the previous Monster Hunter livestream.

As for when the latest update for Monster Hunter Rise goes live, Capcom confirmed the time via Twitter shortly after the digital event came to an end. Luckily, players will not have to wait long at all to sink their teeth into the newly added content.
Monster Hunter Rise players will be able to download the free 3.0. title update at exactly 5 PM PT on May 26, which means that players in the west will actually have access to the new content later today without having to wait an extra day. Here's a handy chart for some of the major time zones around the world that shows what time the update should be live for Switch players:
- 5 PM PT May 26
- 6 PM MT May 26
- 7 PM CT May 26
- 8 PM ET May 26
- 1 AM BST May 27
Just like the previous 2.0 title update for Monster Hunter Rise last month, the patch will be free for all players. The update will require approximately 1.4GB of space on the Switch. And if players have yet to download any of the previous Rise patches, the entire download will be 2.9 GB total.
Also revealed during the broadcast, Capcom showed off the update roadmap for Monster Hunter Rise. Sometime in the middle of June, there will be a Capcom Collab event with Monster Hunter Stories 2. And July and August will also have a Capcom Collab event of their own, but Capcom has yet to reveal which franchises the event will be partnering up with. If these collabs are anything like the events in Monster Hunter: World, fans can possibly expect an appearance from a Resident Evil character, or perhaps Mega Man himself.
Monster Hunter Rise is now available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. A PC port is expected to launch in early 2022.
