Fortnite's "The Crossover" NBA event is live, bringing NBA skins, accessories, modes, and more to the game. The collaborative event also comes with its own set of quests, including visiting the NBA hub in Fortnite Creative, although there seems to be a glitch preventing players from completing it.
Officially launching last week, days before the real-world NBA Playoffs began, The Crossover introduced skins for all 30 NBA teams, similar to what was done with the NFL. The Crossover expanded beyond Battle Royale and into Fortnite's Creative mode yesterday, adding an NBA-themed Welcome Hub and a new LTM called Court Crashers.

Along with the Creative mode expansion comes two new quests encouraging players to check out the new content; playing the Court Crashers LTM and visiting the NBA Welcome Hub. Unfortunately, players are finding that when they open up the hub to complete the latter quest, nothing actually happens.
Fortunately, the popular YouTube channel Fortnite Events has discovered a solution. For unknown reasons, players will need to input the hub's island creator code. When in the initial hub, go to the spot where island codes can be typed in, and input 2008-0428-3912. The map will take quite a bit of time to load, but once it does, simply drop in towards the map and hit the interact button, which should trigger the quest's completion.
While it's a bit of an unusual situation, glitches are something that occurs in the popular free-to-play title from time to time. Last month, the game was hit with a few odd glitches, like randomly flipping players' screens and giving players unlimited heals. The latter is particularly interesting, involving the unlimited duplication of any throwable item. Players were able to use this exploit by carefully switching the throwable item with a gun as its being thrown, resulting in a copy of the thrown item. While certain glitches like this may be advantageous, most, like the NBA Creative Hub glitch, are just plain frustrating.
The NBA quests aren't the only new supplemental quests Fortnite has added in the past few days. Appearing to advance the game's plot, Fortnite has released the Foreshadowing Quests. While there are only two currently available, repairing telescopes and investigating a downed black helicopter, both are strong indicators of things to come in the game's rapidly approaching Season 7.
While it hasn't yet been officially confirmed, it's widely believed that next season will center around aliens and space-age technology, marking a major departure from the current season's "Primal" theming.
The NBA presence in Fortnite is sure to excite basketball fans everywhere, especially during the most exciting time in the league's season. Gamers looking for even more basketball action can always pick up NBA 2K21, which is free right now on the Epic Games Store.
Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
