The Vault of Glass is back in Destiny 2 bringing with it the fabled Gorgon Maze, where many Guardians and Gorgons alike, lost their lives.

Destiny 2’s Vault of Glass has returned and so has the famous Gorgon Maze. Guardians familiar with the original Vault of Glass in Destiny will be familiar with this maze. New Guardians who have not yet stepped foot in the Gorgon Maze are in for a treat in Destiny 2.

The Gorgon Maze is a fun experience for many Fireteams who test their might against the Gorgons that roam this maze while on their way through Destiny 2's Vault of Glass. While these Gorgons have insanely large health pools, they also act as a reminder that the Vex that Guardians usually fight are on the lower tiers of the Vex hierarchy and power scale.

Getting through the Gorgon Maze appears more difficult than it is, being made even easier with the inclusion of the Destiny 2 Hunter Exotic, Omnioculus, and its two smoke grenades. Guardians who have never ventured through the Gorgon Maze are encouraged to give it a few tries before using this guide to get through the maze.

To get through the Gorgon Maze in Destiny 2's Vault of Glass, Guardians need to rely on stealth to avoid being detected by the Gorgons. If a Gorgon detects a Guardian, Guardians must kill it before it wipes the Fireteam, sending them back to the start of the maze. This is where the Hunter Omnioculus Exotic becomes valuable, allowing a single Hunter to cloak their Fireteam for most of the maze.

Guardians will want to make their way forward and to the left of the spawn point to climb a short rock. Looking forward, there will be a Gorgon that will come around the rock on the right and go across player's screens to the left. Slowly follow the Gorgon at a distance, hiding behind a rock across the Gorgons path.

While hiding behind this rock, bottom-tree Nightstalker Hunters should drop a smoke bomb on their Fireteam, cloaking them. Guardians can sprint and jump while invisible in Destiny 2 and should proceed to the large slanted rock to the left, getting up to the top. At the top of this rock, look left to a smaller rock pointed right out of a wall.

The Omnioculus Hunter will want to use smoke bombs on small groups for the next two jumps. Each group will go invisible and jump to the small rock coming out of the wall. From the small rock, there will be another slanted rock straight ahead and to the left that Guardians will need to jump to.

Once the Fireteam is past the small rock and onto the second large rock, they will be able to see the exit. Looking out from the rock, the exit will be a dark cave ahead and to the right. One last smoke bomb should get Guardians past the last couple of Gorgons and through the exit of the Gorgon Maze. Fireteam members can now thank their Hunter friends and continue through the Vault of Glass.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
