The RAM-7 has sort of a cult following in Warzone. Some love it and some hate it. Usage numbers for the RAM have never been very high in the game despite how powerful the weapon has been since launch. The weapon was overshadowed by the FFAR, then the FARA. Now that both of those guns have been nerfed it seems like it is finally time for the RAM to rise in popularity.

It has the fourth-best time to kill among assault rifles and now that the Cold War ARs have been given a movement nerf, it will not feel slow either. Players can use the RAM to support a sniper class, or as a medium to long-range primary. Both classes, and how to use them, are covered in this article.
Sniper support classes have been one of the most common loadouts in the game for several months. The Kar98k and SP-R are dominant weapons that nearly everyone in the community enjoys using. Players that use a sniper as a primary will need an adaptable weapon for short to medium-range gunfights.
Most SMGs do not have the range to be viable, and most assault rifles are outperformed up close. There are a few weapons, like the RAM, that dominate in almost every type of engagement. The RAM has the damage values to out DPS an SMG, and it has the damage ranges to down enemies around 50 meters.
- Monolithic Suppressor
- FSS Ranger Barrel
- Commando Foregrip
- 50 Round Mags
- TAC Laser
Those that struggle to control the RAM's recoil may prefer to swap the TAC laser for Rubberized Grip Tape. The TAC Laser serves to lower the ADS time for better reactions at close distances. Gamers that plan on fighting from intermediate ranges will appreciate the recoil reduction of the Grip Tape over the ADS boost.
A lot of people prefer the gun's iron sights, but for gamers that do not, a sight can be added instead of a TAC Laser. The G.I. Mini Reflex and Corp Combat Holo Sight are the best options for medium-range target acquisition.

If the RAM is being used as an SMG, bullet velocity and damage range are not quite as important. Gamers can opt for one of the other two barrels for better movement. One final option is to use the stock mag to free up an attachment slot. This strategy might do okay in duos and trios, but in squads, 30 rounds is not enough. The RAM goes through ammunition incredibly quickly, so the 50 Round Mag is always a safer choice.
The RAM-7 has a unique recoil pattern with noticeable magnitude. Unlike most Warzone weapons, the RAM kicks up and to the left. Some people may be thrown off by the pattern and struggle to control the gun at range. Even with the right attachments, controller players will need to have some practice with the gun to realize its full potential.
For this build, the RAM's effective ranges are between 10 and 50 meters. Beyond that 50 meter mark, recoil will inhibit aim and tracking. Skilled players with hours of experience using the RAM will still miss a few shots from range. However, if the bullets do connect, they will inflict a ton of damage. Below are the attachments that will work best for the majority of players.
- Monolithic Suppressor
- FSS Recon Barrel
- VLK 3.0X Optic
- Commando Foregrip
- 50 Round Mags
The only attachments players can consider changing on this build are the optic and foregrip. Optic choice is both a matter of effectiveness and preference. Either of the Holo optics will work for those that like using the Blue Dot reticle. However, less zoom means less accuracy when aiming at distant targets.
A lot of people in the community swear by the Cronen 2x2 or Canted Hybrid. Both of these sights provide more zoom and less visual recoil than the VLK 3.0x. The issue with the 2x2 and Canted Hybrid are the reticle options. The stock reticle obstructs the sight picture and the others are not much better. The only usable sight on the optics is the T Pose, but a lot of players will still prefer the VLK's precision dot.

Gamers can play around with the Merc and Ranger Foregrips to see if they feel better, but the Commando Foregrip is the best option for the build. Hip fire spread is not important on a long-range weapon, and the idle sway is so minuscule that the Ranger Foregrip is not necessary.
Additionally, the Commando Foregrip is the only foregrip that reduces all types of recoil while not decreasing ADS speed. With the above build, players will wield one of the top ranged guns in the game. It takes time to be consistent with the RAM, but once users understand how to wield it, they will melt enemies in Verdansk.
