Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies fans that are invested in the mode’s story get some new intel items to collect for Season 3 Reloaded.

While some of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies storyline is told through cutscenes and main quest easter eggs, the vast majority is told through intel. Aside from extra insight into the main characters, some interesting figures are completely relegated to intel — making the items worth picking up for those intrigued by the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies narrative.

While Season 3 added new Zombies intel, the midseason update has added even more collectibles to the mix. Fortunately, all the items are found in Outbreak, giving players one area to focus their efforts on. However, with a few items tied directly to Outbreak’s main quest, Call of Duty Zombies fans will have to put in some work if they want to achieve full completion for the Season.

The heroes of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies, this CIA-backed group is led by the campaign character Weaver. Through the intel, gamers can learn about the many members of the faction. In Season 3 Reloaded, Requiem has by far the most intel to collect.

  • 4 Requiem Documents: As with previous Seasons, documents are dropped randomly by mini bosses. There are several new documents to collect, and thanks to a new update, two documents can be picked up every game. They can also drop from Golden Chests on rare occasions.
  • Requiem Radio Transmission: Players can collect one more Radio transmission for Requiem this Season. Players can collect this transmission from any region as well, making it easy to collect. In Ruka, it is found on the table in the main building of the Cargo Platform area. In Golova, it is on top of the larger Granary silo that gamers can zipline up to. In Sanatorium, it is on the top floor of the large yellow house, resting within an office. In Alpine, it is seen as soon as players enter the Bathhouse. Finally, the Radar Control area in Season 3’s Duga Region houses the last transmission in its Listening Post building. On the top floor, players can find the radio in a room with wooden walls.
  • Requiem Audio Log 1 - Ruka: The first Requiem Audio Log of Season 3 reloaded is found in the tent on the Old Farm. It is under a table.
  • Requiem Audio Log 2 - Sanatorium: If players swim out to the small Boulder island, they can climb a ladder to reach some tracks. Every several feet of track gives players a rung to drop down, and the Log is on the second rung.
  • Requiem Audio Log 3 - Sanatorium: Another Log is in the Sanatorium Night Region, and players can find it right by the one on the tracks. Under the map’s main bridge rests the log, and it is on a small boulder right next to the map boundaries.
  • Requiem Audio Log 4 - Duga: In Duga’s Radar Control building, players can find another Audio Log. It is in the back room on the top floor, sitting on a table below a painting of Stalin.
  • Requiem Audio Log 5 - Duga: In the Worker Services building that is fairly close to Radar Control, this lot can be found. Once again, it is on the second floor, and players can find it if they go into the room on the left that is closest to the staircase.
  • Requiem Artifact 1 - Golova: If players head to the Lower Farmstead, they can find a Transformer Apple Crate. It is in the barn to the left of the jump pad silos.
  • Requiem Artifact 2 - Duga: At the end of Duga’s massive radar array, an Electric Substation can be found. If players jump on the middle generator and then onto the main pylon, they can find the large Beacon Device Component on its side.
  • Requiem Artifact 3 - Alpine: A canister for the Aether Shroud Field Upgrade can be found in the leftmost Maintenance building. It is closest to the large red building.

The villains of the Dark Aether story, players already know a fair bit about Dr. Peck and the rest of the Omega Group. For those that want to know more, though, the following intel items will do the trick.

  • 3 Omega Documents: For the most part, these follow the same pattern as the Requiem Documents, as two will drop from mini bosses or Golden Chests every game. However, one will also be acquired when doing the projector step of the Main Quest.
  • Omega Radio Transmission: Once again, only one of these can be picked up each match, though there is thankfully only one to find in Season 3 Reloaded. However, just like with Requiem’s transmission, there is a spot to pick it up in every region. Ruka’s is found in a long green tent on the left side of the Missile Silos area. Golova’s is found on the second floor of the Upper Town building that houses the Pack-A-Punch machine, specifically on the left side. It is on a desk. Sanatorium’s transmission is seen in the Administration building, and it is once again found in a side room of the second floor. Alpine’s transmission sits on a pool table on the second floor of the crafting table building while Duga’s is seen in one of the small buildings at Secure Communications. The area is right in the center of the map, and all 6 buildings’ similar designs should make it easily distinguishable.
  • Omega Artifact 1 - Alpine: In the massive Medevac Hanger that is near a dragon spawn, a Tempest Head can be found on some crate. An armor stand also spawns in the building, and the correct crates are closest to the big doors.
  • Omega Artifact 2 - Easter Egg: This artifact is the first ICBM Key players will pick up near the end of the main quest. It drops from the red version of the Mimic mini boss.
  • Omega Artifact 3 - Easter Egg: On the second Key step, players will need to pick up a special Essence Trap to catch a monkey. This Trap doubles as the final Omega Artifact.

The main protagonist of the Call of Duty Zombies narrative is taking a more prominent role in the story following her rescue in Firebase Z. Aside from leading players through Outbreak's main quest, the beloved Samantha Maxis has a few collectible items tied to her story arc.

  • 4 Maxis Documents: Just like Requiem and Omega, these are dropped from Golden Chests and mini boss enemies.
  • Maxis Artifact 1 - Easter Egg: The first artifact players will pick up in the Easter egg is a required drop from the first step. Players will get the Beacon Listening Device after adjusting all the radios and hearing Sam speak.
  • Maxis Artifact 2 - Easter Egg: The Maxis Film Slides will drop from the stone monkey marked M in the Outbreak main quest.

Like always, a majority of Dark Aether intel is earned from the trial machine. There are a few artifacts this time around, though, giving players a bit more insight into the dimension visited during the Die Maschine easter egg.

  • Dark Aether Trial Intel - Gamers can pick up 8 different pieces of intel from the trial machine. They are not map-specific, meaning that players can work on collecting them in any region.
  • Dark Aether Artifact 1 - Sanatorium: On the upper level of the Beach Resort, players will find some stairs on the left side of a small white building. Under these stairs is an Empty Quick Revive can, and players can go prone to pick it up.
  • Dark Aether Artifact 2 - Ruka: A Broken Essence Canister can be found at the Creek Dacha location. Specifically, it is in the old barn. One of Outbreak’s fishing spots rests outside.
  • Dark Aether Artifact 3 - Easter Egg: When players are on the third Key step, they will interact with a red canister. After this, they need to break Aether crystals for shards. The first shard that is picked up will count as an intel piece.

With a new Outbreak easter egg and fresh Survival map coming in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 4, fans can expect to see a lot more intel in the coming months. For now, though, they should be able to collect everything that is currently in the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
