The Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale features a large roster of playable Operators for fans of the game to choose from, representing characters from both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as well as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The list of Call of Duty: Warzone playable Operators mainly consists of completely original characters created for the game, but there are also some guest characters that fans can play as, too.

Call of Duty: Warzone has so far added four major guest characters to the roster through special events, with players able to gain access to them by purchasing their bundles. These guest characters have mainly been pulled from movies so far, but there's a chance that the guest characters will be pulled from other media in future.

Here are the major Call of Duty: Warzone guest characters so far.

Call of Duty: Warzone has recently kicked off a special event themed after 80s action films and their protagonists. Specifically, Call of Duty: Warzone has added special bundles featuring Die Hard and Rambo, and has gone as far as to significantly alter sections of the battle royale map and the game in general to pay homage to these 80s classics. Both of the bundles are currently available in Call of Duty: Warzone for any fans of 80s action movies.

When it comes to Die Hard, Call of Duty: Warzone has added the Nakatomi Corporation tower, which is fairly movie accurate and features a number of Easter eggs that fans of the film will likely get a kick out of. Not only that, but players can also loot the Nakatomi vault to get an absurd amount of cash, which can go a long way in giving Call of Duty: Warzone players the advantage they need to turn any given game into a winning one.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans can really dive into the Die Hard love by purchasing the associated bundle, which comes with a special John McClane Operator. Unlike the Leatherface and Saw skins from the Halloween event (more on that later), John McClane is a completely new Operator and is not a skin for an existing character. McClane features unique voice lines and while some fans have complained about aspects of his design, he's mostly accurate to how the character appears in Die Hard.

McClane being his own Operator could be a sign that Activision is going to do the same for future guest characters in Call of Duty: Warzone. More evidence of this can be found with the Rambo DLC which, like the Die Hard DLC, adds Rambo as his own distinct playable Operator in the game. Rambo is based on the character's appearance in the original Rambo movie, aka First Blood, and like McClane, he comes with a variety of voice lines pulled from the movie.

The Rambo references added to the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale map are not quite as obvious as Die Hard's Nakatomi tower, but there's still plenty for fans to see. In particular, players can now collect special dog tags in certain areas of the Call of Duty: Warzone map, and they can also get their hands on an exploding bow killstreak called the Combat Bow. There are other references to Rambo that players can find in Call of Duty: Warzone as well, so fans should keep their eye out while they're exploring the map.

Call of Duty: Warzone really went all out with its first Halloween event, which took place last year as The Haunting of Verdansk. The Haunting of Verdansk added zombies to the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale, a new nighttime take on the map, jump scares, and a variety of references to famous horror franchises. In particular, Call of Duty: Warzone's Halloween event added nods to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw.

When it comes to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Call of Duty: Warzone made it possible for players to find Leatherface's house on the battle royale map. If that wasn't creepy enough, the game also added a special bundle that players could purchase to take on the role of Leatherface themselves. Call of Duty: Warzone Operator Velikan was treated to the Leatherface skin, making them look exactly as the demented character did in the classic 1974 slasher film.

For its Saw representation, Call of Duty: Warzone recruited Billy the Puppet, which Jigsaw used to torment his victims in various films in the Saw franchise. Also known simply as the "Jigsaw skin" by fans, the Billy skin is one of the skins available for Call of Duty: Warzone Operator Morte. Similarly to the Leatherface bundle, Call of Duty: Warzone fans that purchased the Billy skin were treated to a slew of additional cosmetic content as well.

Activision has remained tight-lipped about other guest characters that could be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in future, but leakers have suggested that there may be even more 80s-era movie characters joining the fray. In particular, leakers have pointed to The Terminator coming to Call of Duty: Warzone, though it must be stressed that this has not been confirmed at the time of this writing. Call of Duty: Warzone's persistent popularity is a virtual guarantee that there will be many more guest characters added to the game over the years, either as distinct playable Operators or as skins, so even if Terminator doesn't make the cut, others undoubtedly will.
