An Among Us fan has found an unexpected surprise in their meal in the form of an oddly-shaped Chicken McNugget. The nugget is shaped remarkably like a crewmate from the hit game Among Us. Now, the nugget in question sits on eBay at a listing price of well over $1000.
To make matters more strange, the nugget was pulled from a BTS Combo Pack, a limited-edition offering themed after the hit Korean boyband, who last year faced off against League of Legends pro team T1. Though the resemblance to the characters from Among Us is uncanny, the fact that the listing is asking $1000 for a McNugget is raising some eyebrows.

As it currently stands, the listing is pulling in hundreds of views and hours and has a watcher's list of almost 200 people. Even though the listing was likely made in jest, a blend of McDonald's and Among Us seems primed to at least provide serious parody potential. There's certainly no denying McDonald's popularity, just earlier this month, McDonald's was forced to restrict Pokemon toy sales after resellers went wild. While the Among Us McNugget is certainly not in the same category as a licensed Pokemon toy, if it gains enough traction it's hard to call what will happen.
The listing's description confirms at least two details about the McNugget. The first is that the nugget was genuinely pulled from a McDonald's meal. Second, there has been at least a degree of interest in the item, as one potential buyer complained that "shipping was too much." While Among Us is one of the most popular games in recent years, even debuting on Jimmy Fallon last month, it's unlikely that a perishable food item will ever fetch this sort of price. Still, viewers will be forced to admit that it's an unusual shape for a McNugget, and not one of the four expected shapes: bell, bow-tie, boot, and ball.
Instead, the strange looking McNugget will probably go down only as a hilarious coincidence, but, if anything, it has the potential to be parodied within Among Us. The joke could potentially be used as a springboard by Innersloth to develop a McNugget-themed skin within Among Us or as a starting point for a McDonald's and Among Us collaboration. After seeing the insane value tied to anything Pokemon and McDonald's related, an unexpected crossover between McDonald's and Among Us could have massive potential for both parties.
Among Us is available on Mobile, PC, and Switch, with PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
