Developers at miHoYo continue to evolve Genshin Impact as the game reaches more players globally and the Summer content has been unveiled. Version 1.6 is a big update coming this Summer that will introduce a new adventure, a new character, new outfits, new areas to explore, and more.
Genshin Impact Version 1.6 coming on June 9 and the big update is introducing a new character known as Kaedehara Kazuha. Kazuha is the first new playable character from Inazuma and he'll be introducing the new Archon Quest. Kazuha is wanted by the Inazuma Shogunate and now traveling with Beidou’s Crux Fleet and as a result, he will provide players with clues about the way to the closed-off Inazuma.

The main seasonal event in Genshin Impact Version 1.6 is the Midsummer Island Adventure and it will be divided into four stages, each featuring unique gameplay. Players will first need to sail on a boat called the Waverider and destroy enemy floating towers and encampments. These structures can be destroyed with either the boat’s cannon or close combat. Stage two has players racing on the sea and in the sky. The third stage will test gamers' combat skills with a new opponent called Maguu Kenki.
Maguu Kenki has its own unique attack style and the Inazuma-style aesthetic and the new opponent joins Version 1.6 alongside Kaedehara Kazuha. When Kenki’s health falls below a specific amount, the new opponent can summon phantoms that deal Anemo and Cryo damage against players. Any ranged attacks will also be blocked if Maguu Kenki is not engaged in close-range battle.
The final stage of the Midsummer Island Adventure has players clearing out nearby monster encampments with the help of three types of Harpastum Bombs. By completing the Genshin Impact event challenges, players will be able to obtain two currencies: the Shiny Flotsam and Mini Harpastum. Both currencies can be used to purchase various resources and items, including the new four-star catalyst Dodoco Tales. Jean and Barbara will also receive summer-themed outfits with the upcoming update, with Summertime Sparkle available for free by participating in the Echoing Tales event.
The new character coming to Genshin Impact with Version 1.6 is Kaedehara Kazuha and he wields an Anemo Vision, several buffs, and a sword. This character releases a rushing wind current to pull objects and opponents towards him in order to launch them to deal Anemo damage. This ability lifts Kazuha into the air where he can unleash the “Midare Ranzan,” dealing Anemo damage and creating a small wind tunnel that sucks in surrounding objects and opponents.
The addition of a new Genshin Impact character with Version 1.6 brings an entirely new dynamic to the game, while the Island Adventure will occupy lots of time this Summer for fans of the miHoYo MMO. With Summertime Sparkle being available for free to all players that participate in the Echoing Tales, there may be plenty of Barbara players wearing the outfit this summer.
Genshin Impact is available right now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version also in development.
