Players that want to change their ally in Biomutant can find all of the details that they need on switching Tribes in this guide.

In the early hours of Biomutant, players will be forced to make a choice between joining the Jagni Tribe or the Myriad Tribe. This preliminary decision does not have to be the end of the story when it comes to picking an ally, though, as it is indeed possible to change Tribes in Biomutant. In fact, this is quite a simple thing to do, and this guide contains full details on the process that fans must follow.

To get right to it, players that wish to change their alliance must simply visit the Fortress of the Tribe that they are interested in joining and speak to its Sifu. For those fans that may be unclear about where they can find the various Tribal Fortresses on Biomutant's map, details on the locations of all six of them can be found below. Additionally, players may want to reference the following descriptions of each Tribe as they try to determine who will be their new ally.

RELATED: Biomutant: All Ultimate Weapon Locations

  • Myriad (Whereabouts): The Myriad Tribe act on understanding of the greater good and a code of honor. They want to unite the Tribes, defeat the Worldeaters, and save the Tree of Life. | Maximum Light | Tribal Weapon: Boomerang
  • Ankati (Deadzone): The Ankati Tribe believe that solidarity is what is needed to keep the world in balance. They want to unite the Tribes, defeat the Worldeaters, and save the Tree of Life. | Light | Tribal Weapon: Bow
  • Netra (Knupstonies): The Netra Tribe values liberty and strive to protect freedom. They want to separate the Tribes, defeat the Worldeaters, and save the Tree of Life. | Somewhat Light | Tribal Weapon: Grappling Hook
  • Pichu (Fnackyleaves): The Pichu Tribe supports natural evolution and dogma that only the strong survive. They want to vanquish the Tribes and let the Worldeaters destroy the Tree of Life. | Somewhat Dark | Tribal Weapon: Nanchuk
  • Jagni (Whereabouts): The Jagni Tribe wants to become omnipresent and most importantly, feared. They want to vanquish the Tribes and let the Worldeaters destroy the Tree of Life. | Dark | Tribal Weapon: Staff
  • Lotus (Mushimosh Mire): The Lotus Tribe seek to build a perfect order, regardless of how many are hurt in the process. They want to subdue the Tribes and let the Worldeaters destroy the Tree of Life. | Maximum Dark | Tribal Weapon: Shuriken

To note, each Tribe in the game has a corresponding Rival, and it is not possible to change to a Rival Tribe directly. Instead, Biomutant players must first ally with a third, neutral Tribe, and then join up with the former Rival. While this process may seem slightly tedious, it can be executed quite quickly thanks to the game's fast travel system.

With respect to how a fan can go about deciding which Tribe to ally with, they should put some thought toward whether they are going for a Light or Dark playthrough of Biomutant. Indeed, each of these groups falls somewhere on a spectrum that ranges from Maximum Light to Maximum Dark, as indicated in the descriptions above, and players will likely want to join one that matches their interests. Furthermore, players may want to consider which Tribal Weapon they are interested in unlocking, though it is actually possible to obtain all of them.

Biomutant is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
