The Galaxy Burger map is one of the most unique in Knockout City. Naturally, it's going to take some specific strategies to emerge victorious here.

Just over a week after release, Knockout City is going strong and people seem to love it. The game is already showing that it has legs, now it just comes down to what 101 Games does with their newfound popularity. With the launch of the first competitive season, players are starting to come up with more and more sweaty strategies to win and get to the highest rank they can for those juicy rewards.

They’ve been very creative in their tactics, but there’s only so much an individual player can do before they have to start learning the most efficient methods of play for each map. To smooth out that process, here are some of the best tips found for the Galaxy Burger map in particular.

7 Use The Spinning Restaurant To Isolate & Confuse Enemies

The main gimmick for the Galaxy Burger map is obviously the fact that everything's rotating. The UFOs and planets around the outside of the map are gently rotating in a circle, as well as the outer platforms and the door/entryway itself. The plan is for players to use this to their advantage.

Chase an enemy into the middle area while the entryway closes to trap them in there alone. Alternatively, use the center platform as both a defensive wall and a way to trick enemies, since it's just small enough that even the uncharged curveball can make it around. These are just a few of the many tactics for the spinning areas. At the end of the day, this middle area is far more useful than it first appears.

6 Lobbed Throws Are The Way To Go

There’s a lot of verticality to this map compared to the others. Players and enemies alike will use the multitude of platforms, low-height walls, and the Galaxy Burger itself to get away from balls being locked onto them.

With lobs, this problem is almost completely circumvented. When used correctly, lobs can easily go over most walls. They tend to take enemies by surprise because of the difference in their speed when charged or uncharged. Outside of standing directly underneath a platform, there aren’t many areas of this map (other than the interior of the restaurant) where a regular or curved throw would work better than a lobbed one.

5 Gather Up & Get In Close

Some of the maps in Knockout City feel a lot more claustrophobic than others. The Galaxy Burger map is a lot more open in general, similar to Concussion Yard. There are fewer pitfalls, and a lot less random terrain to bump into.

Because of this, it’s a lot easier for enemies to keep their distance and catch any throws heading their way. That’s why, to get the upper hand on this map, players should make it their focus to stick together as a team and get in close to overwhelm the enemy team.

4 Snipe From Above

Oddly enough, teams don’t seem to hang out on the second floor of the Galaxy Burger too often. They usually jump up, grab a ball, then start running around the first floor looking for enemies. However, there are quite a few reasons to hang out up there or the UFOs/planets rotating around the building.

Firstly, because these platforms rotate, players can stand perfectly still with a charged ball or even a sniper ball and just wait for the platform to take them to their opponents. Secondly, because it’s just about the highest area on the map, most balls thrown toward a player on the second floor from the first are lobs. These are incredibly easy to catch if a player knows they’re coming.

3 Play Around With Deceptive Ultimate Attacks

Speaking of those spinning platforms, while they might seem like a pain for lob shots or for people to hide on, they’re actually great for Ultimate Attacks. Players can charge their teammate completely while in ball-form right next to an enemy. Wait for a platform to rotate overhead, then throw them up into the air.

This drastically reduces the time their teammate is up in the air before coming down and exploding. In fact, it's almost instantaneous. This tactic does require a lot of spatial awareness and timing, so players should only use it once they master this map.

2 Stay Near The Edge For Maximum Options

Many players haven’t realized out how easy it is to throw enemies off if they get caught while in ball-form. Hang out around the edge of the map, and wait for enemies to get impatient and throw their own teammates once they run out of balls to throw. Once that happens, catch their teammate, immediately turn to the ledge, and throw their teammate right off with a lob.

Because it’s a lob, they’ll head straight down, with no chance to recover. Plus, because Galaxy Burger tends to be one of the maps where teams spam Ultimate Attacks, hanging out near the edge works well to jump off the map and glide to avoid it until they land.

1 Get As Many Tackles In As Possible

Lastly, the ball spawns on this map are a bit more spread out than other maps. While players may stick together, there will be plenty of times where they don’t all have a ball to throw. In this situation, make sure that the player without a ball focuses on catching or tackling any nearby enemies.

The open space of this map makes it easier for enemies to catch any ball, so tackling often will work as a fantastic counter. And again, if a player is lucky and their enemy is accident-prone, they might be able to tackle them off the map edge or in any of the holes where flying cars are parked.
