As a survival game, Breathedge doesn't make things easy on players. With these tips, though, players can make it through the cold emptiness of space.

Breathedge is the latest survival game to grace monitors and TVs around the world. This time, players must survive in the unforgiving vacuum of space after their ship crashes. Debris floats everywhere, but so do answers as to what caused the mysterious crash.

As with any survival game, Breathedge can take some time to get used to. Game mechanics are different than other games of its type, and players will always need to keep track of their oxygen levels. The road to completing the game is a long and rough one, but it's not impossible.

10 Collect Everything

One truth for any survival game is that players will need to collect items. Anything that players can get their hands on can prove useful, even if they don't need it at the time. Players should collect everything that they find and store it for later use.

There is nothing wrong with being a hoarder in a survival game. With the way some puzzles are solved in Breathedge, players might not know right away what is needed and what isn't.

9 Always Check Behind The Ship

There are a lot of tasks the player needs to complete in Breathedge. Some are simple, like finding a steering wheel, while others can be quite difficult. The key to finding some of these items is to check the back of the ship.

It is an odd place to need to search, but knowing that items will appear back there can mean that players will get less confused. When a player feels like they don't know where to go, it won't hurt to take a look in the back. The item they need might just be there.

8 Find Food & Water

Food and water are essential items in any survival game, but in Breathedge it can seem like these essential items don't exist. Fret not – players can find food and water in the vacuum of space if they know where to look.

Blobs of food and water float around in space for players to pick up and satisfy their needs. There are also globs of honey that will help create more food. Players who are feeling extra thirsty can also break apart ice balls to harvest more water.

7 Build The Tools Fast

It is best to get various tools that players can use built first, since players will need them later on in the game. Creating the tools can be a little tricky, since they require some materials that players might not know where to find.

Metal can be found floating out in space, and appears as little balls. Players can salvage rubber from various parts of the ship. The drill will be needed to collect aluminum from the white asteroids that are floating around. Lastly, players can use the scrapper to break various objects for materials.

6 Check Your Surroundings

Players should always be aware of where everything is located, and always check their surroundings for more items. Always be on the lookout for materials and boxes. Materials can be found everywhere from the ship to random space objects, while boxes can be found floating around in space. Break them open to get more supplies.

Wires can be found hanging off of different ship sections, and so can other items that can prove useful. Always be sure to be checking the surrounding area for things that might be useful to the mission.

5 Know What To Avoid

There are plenty of things that can kill a player off. Just like in any survival game, players will need to watch their backs to make sure they don't end up getting themselves killed. For example, watch out for electrical wires, as touching these will end the player's life quickly.

Other things to avoid are radiation and the cold. Radiation is pretty easy to spot. Whenever a player sees liquid that appears to be floating in an odd way, that radiation will probably be nearby. The radiation meter in the bottom right corner will also begin filling up. A player can tell if they are cold thanks to the snowflake symbol in the bottom right corner: If it appears, ice will start to cover the player's face.

4 Save Often

Breathedge gives players a lot of room to explore – it is space, after all. The unfortunate aspect to this is that there are limited areas where the game will autosave. Players should always remember to save whenever they are on an expedition, to avoid needing to start over again.

Saving often can be useful in case a player dies while out looking for supplies. Since the only area that causes an autosave is the ship, players will end up being teleported back there upon death.

3 Use Oxygen Candles

Below where the ship is located, players can get the blueprint for oxygen candles. These little tools are useful for keeping the player alive while they search through the space debris. While other meters like food and drink don't degrade quickly, oxygen does.

Players will run out of oxygen extremely fast, especially in the beginning of the game. Thankfully, it isn't too difficult to create the oxygen station. This item is created with oxygen candles, aluminum, and electrical tape. Players can place it in an area to help resupply the player with oxygen.

2 Carry Multiple Scrappers

The handy scrapper is a useful tool for players to keep on hand at all times. It can be used for plenty of tasks, from breaking open doors to opening crates. There is no way to tell if a player will need one of these essential items while out exploring, so they should always be carrying multiple of them.

The scrapper also has a limited number of times users can swing it before it breaks. The actual number is around thirty, and if players don't keep track of how many times they have swung one, it could break without them realizing it.

1 Build Transport

Players starting off will notice that they don't move very quickly. Some items can increase speed in the game, but those only make the player move a little quicker. Once a player has built some tools and collected plenty of supplies there is only one thing left to do: build transport.

Players can ride atop a vacuum cleaner like a moped, or even discover transport on their own. It definitely beats floating around with the standard jetpack boosters.
