While playing Hitman 3, a player notices an NPC that looks eerily similar to Micah, one of the most hated characters in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 expanded upon the established formula presented by the first game in many ways. The sequel offered a much bigger world for players to sink their teeth into, heavily populated with side content, as well as memorable side characters. However, many fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 would argue that many of the newly introduced lead characters stand out the most.

Many characters were introduced in Red Dead Redemption 2, with some like Arthur Morgan winning over the adulation of many who first played the game. However, one character that stood out for the opposite reason was Micah, a member of the Van der Linde gang who would go on to become the game's lead villain. Micah does a lot of reprehensible things, leading to many fans hating his character. However, one fan seems to have found what could be considered a long lost descendant of his in another AAA game.

While playing through Hitman 3, a Reddit user by the name of Lady_keyz noticed an NPC that looks almost exactly the same as Micah. From the horseshoe mustache to the middle-part in his hair, even the NPCs body-type and jacket are remarkably similar to Micah in a lot of ways. Perhaps the developers at IO Interactive were big fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 and wanted to pay homage in some regard.

It's not uncommon for characters from other games to make crossover appearances in certain games. For instance, Animal Crossing: New Horizons added a ton of Mario-themed items for players to purchase and utilize a few months ago. In that situation, Nintendo owns a lot of different franchises, and therefore it's easier for something like this to occur.

It seems fairly obvious this isn't an intentional crossover, but the comparison is also uncannily accurate. The Hitman series, especially the latest Hitman trilogy, is known for having a massive amount of NPCs populating each level. It is fairly difficult to craft a cacophony of different looking NPCs and not have some kind of overlap with other games in terms of similarities.

The same can't exactly be said of the NPCs in Red Dead Redemption 2. Many of the NPCs are fairly unique to one another, with character models not repeating nearly as frequently as some other Rockstar titles. In any case, it will be interesting to see if this phenomenon occurs across any other game, intentional or not.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
