A new Call of Duty: Warzone glitch gives players early access to a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War gun that is meant to come later in Season 3.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans are no stranger to bugs and glitches, though these hiccups are rarely beneficial. However, a new Call of Duty: Warzone bug is having a positive effect, as it allows players to get early access to the AMP63 machine pistol in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

This is not the first time that this type of glitch has been seen in Call of Duty: Warzone, as gamers encountered a similar bug with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Sykov pistol before it was properly added to the game. Fully usable, gamers were able to experience the ins and outs of the handgun for a long period of time. Now, the same thing is happening with the AMP63, giving players the chance to see the new addition in action ahead of its official release.

The last of six Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons set to release in Season 3, gamers can unlock the gun early by completing a hidden Call of Duty: Warzone challenge. Considering that it will take some doing, and Raven may already be looking to patch the glitch out of the game, those interested in the AMP63 will want to work on the task sooner rather than later. According to Redditor zLight_Yagami, the unlock challenge asks players to get 5 kills in 20 different Call of Duty: Warzone matches.

With this being a lot of games and requiring a high level of skill from Call of Duty: Warzone players, it could take a lot of focus and effort. After all, every match with four kills or less is essentially wasted, meaning that players need to be on their A-game for 20 different games. That said, one smart workaround for this would be to play Plunder, as players can simply hunt for easy kills without needing to worry about limited lives and Gulag encounters.

However, Call of Duty: Warzone fans should be warned that using the weapon early could result in a ban. In a video from NICKMERCS discussing bans, the pro player detailed scenarios where he heard of accounts being removed for accessing content early. This included camos and guns, meaning there is a small chance players could lose their accounts if they try to use the AMP63 early. On top of this, unlocking other midseason weapons early has seen them stripped from accounts, forcing players to unlock them again once they officially release.

With so much risk to unlocking and using the gun, perhaps it would be best to wait until its challenge is made public. For Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players that are desperate to use the AMP63, it is available in gunfight and the Mystery Munitions variant of PlayStation’s Zombies Onslaught Mode.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
