Biomutant has an entertaining combat system. Here's a look at some of the best builds to make if you're a fan of ranged combat.

Biomutant is an open-world RPG that allows players to personalize their playthrough. Just from the character creation menu at the beginning of the game alone, the player is already given the chance to play around with the customization.

With RPG titles such as Biomutant, the player can customize their character to adhere to a specific build. If the player is ever planning on creating a ranged build character, there is more than one path that they can take. This game is very generous with its weapons and abilities that there are various builds the player can craft that are associated with ranged combat alone. These are some of the best ranged combat builds the players can craft in the game.

7 The Semi-Range

Those who are most familiar with melee combat but also want to dip their toes in the game's ranged combat can employ a semi-ranged build. This is where they use both melee and range, but more of the latter than the former. They can simply utilize melee whenever to connect combos or to deal damage when an enemy has closed in.

  • Class - Saboteur, Mercenary, or Commando
  • Breed - Hyla, Fip, or Murgel
  • Weapon Type - Any ranged weapon and a melee weapon with high Attack Speed.
  • Stat Priority - Intellect and Agility
  • Perks - Trigger Tech, Technician, Gunsmith
  • Biogenetics and Psi-Powers - Any
  • Wung-Fu - Any

Since the player will be prioritizing ranged combat and only use melee weapons as fillers with this build, the player can pick out any ranged weapon they're comfortable with, but their melee weapon should have a fast attack speed since they're only used quickly and sparingly.

6 Dual Wielding Saboteur

The Dual-Wielding Saboteur build is for those who maximize the number of bullets they can spray per minute. This also highlights the importance of mobility, which is something this game encourages greatly.

  • Class - Saboteur
  • Breed - Primal or Rex
  • Weapon Type - Guns
  • Stat Priority - Agility
  • Perks - Clip Tech, Technician, Perfect Reload, Gunsmith
  • Biogenetics and Psi-Powers - Any
  • Wung-Fu - Two-Faced Cobra Grip

The Two-Faced Cobra Grip Wung-Fu ability allows the player to wield two guns at once. The player should also keep in mind that the only ranged weapons in the game the player can dual wield are guns.

5 Shotgun Sentinel

The Shotgun Sentinel build is for players who want to inflict as much damage as they can while also being as resilient as they can be. The perfect class for this build is the Sentinel, the "tank" type of Biomutant.

  • Class - Sentinel
  • Breed - Hyla
  • Weapon Type - Shotgun
  • Stat Priority -Vitality
  • Perks - Plating, Clip Tech, Perfect Reload, Technician, Adrenaline, Gunsmith, Toughness, Medic, Ricochet, Invincibility, and Knock
  • Biogenetics and Psi-Powers - Any
  • Wung-Fu - Shotgun Wung-Fu abilities

The Hyla breed is the best option for this build since it has the highest starting Health of any breed in the game. One of the biggest drawbacks of shotguns is their low attack speed and reload time. Unlocking perks that remedy those will make this build even more effective.

4 Gun-Wielding Mage

The Gun-Wielding Mage build is for players who want to do a mage build but can't quite let go of weapons yet. The union between these two combat styles is absolutely doable in Biomutant, as long as the balance is perfect.

  • Class - Psi-Freak
  • Breed - Fip
  • Weapon Type - Any ranged weapon
  • Stat Priority - Intellect
  • Perks - Ki Energize, Clip Tech, Perfect Reload, Gunsmith, Megamind, Nocturnal, Mind Melt, Psi Spikes, Brain Drain
  • Biogenetics and Psi-Powers - Every ranged ability
  • Wung-Fu - Any

Since this build will employ both Psi abilities and ranged weapons, the player must unlock perks that benefit both. And since this is a ranged build, the player must prioritize Biogenetics and Psi-Powers that can damage enemies from a distance.

3 The Ultimate Psi-Mage

The Ultimate Psi-Mage build is for those who want to completely embrace the game's Biogenetics and Psi-Powers. A ranged mage build in Biomutant can make an insanely powerful character as long as the player knows which stats, perks, and abilities to prioritize.

  • Class - Psi-Freak
  • Breed - Fip
  • Weapon Type - Unnecessary
  • Stat Priority -Intellect
  • Perks - Clip Tech, Perfect Reload, Gunsmith, Megamind, Nocturnal, Mind Melt, Psi Spikes, Brain Drain
  • Biogenetics and Psi-Powers - Every ranged ability
  • Wung-Fu - Any

This build will have the player completely abandon the weapons in the game. Mastering this build makes the gameplay so much more mystifying and entertaining, making the efforts of making and mastering this build much more gratifying and personal.

2 Distant Dynamo

The Distant Dynamo build is for players who really want to deal the most damage while being as far away from the enemy as possible in the game. This build is the safest for the player, but it will also require a lot of practice to master.

  • Class - Dead-Eye
  • Breed - Any
  • Weapon Type - Automatic Rifles or Rifles that have the Dynamo Weapon Special Ability.
  • Stat Priority - Agility and Luck
  • Perks - Clip Tech, Perfect Reload, Gunsmith, Sharpshooter
  • Biogenetics and Psi-Powers - Any
  • Wung-Fu - Any

This build relies on the Dynamo Weapon Special Ability. This ability will increase the player's damage the further away they are from the target. The perfect weapon for this build is one that has a long-reaching range like Automatic Rifles and Rifles.

1 The Unstoppable Dead-Eye

The Dead-Eye class is by far the best class for ranged builds. The perks that come with this class are all aimed at making almost any ranged weapon in the game as powerful as it can be.

  • Class - Dead-Eye
  • Breed - Primal
  • Weapon Type - Any Ranged Weapon
  • Stat Priority - Agility and Luck
  • Perks - Clip Tech, Perfect Reload, Technician, Gunsmith, Crackshot, Sniper, Gunslinger, Sharpshooter
  • Biogenetics and Psi-Powers - Any
  • Wung-Fu - Any

The Primal breed is the perfect match for the Dead-Eye class. The most important perk the player must master is the Perfect Reload. This is a game mechanic that will allow the player to negate reload time completely. The player can also go for any type of ranged weapon for as long as they're comfortable with it. To fully maximize efficiency, the player should also upgrade the Luck stat as much as they can to increase the critical chance.
