E3 organizer ESA announces it's holding an awards show to close out the convention, awarding accolades to the event's most highly-anticipated games.

With E3 right around the corner, more publishers, companies, and game studios are announcing their plans for the all-digital convention, with several showcases beginning to take shape. Earlier today, E3 organizer ESA revealed that it would be holding its own event during the show, with an official award ceremony slated to take place during the convention's final day.

To be precise, the event will take place on June 15, although an official time hasn't yet been announced. Several awards will be handed out during the show, with the accolades being decided upon by a stacked panel of editors hailing from IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer, and GamesRadar+.

It will allegedly focus on praising the most anticipated games highlighted during the broadcast, with a press release claiming that "celebrating innovative publishers and developers is an ideal way to close E3 2021." This will allegedly include an award for the most anticipated game of the event, as well as trophies for the biggest and best games coming from "each participating publisher and developer." The judges will have a lot of games to choose from, with various companies attending E3's first-ever all-digital convention, including Microsoft, Nintendo, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Take-Two, Warner Bros., and many more.

Although there's a lot of names confirmed to be attending the convention, few have laid out firm plans right now. Players know they'll see a 90-minute showcase from Microsoft and Bethesda on June 13, which promises to reveal new information about several of the publishers' biggest upcoming titles. It seems wise to imagine Halo Infinite will get a big showcase, while many have speculated that Starfield could show up and Playground Games' upcoming Fable reboot could get its first major spotlight.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft will host a Ubisoft Forward event on June 12, where it intends to show off several upcoming games. Fans are sure to see more of Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

The Summer Game Fest will also launch a few days before E3, bringing its own slate of world premieres and other announcements. Koch Media has confirmed it will host a livestream in accordance with the festival on June 11, where it's sure to show off some new projects and a better look at its already-announced titles. Dead Island 2 could make its grand return during the show, with many wondering about the state of the sequel, while fans already know that new Saints Row and Metro games are currently in the works, so the showcase could be a great place to formally announce them.

The E3 2021 Awards Show will take place on June 15.
