Rare releases a Sea of Thieves edition of Monopoly with a unique board, cash, and player pieces as well as an exclusive DLC perk.

Sea of Thieves is the 2018 action adventure game made by Rare in which players sail the high seas in an epic multiplayer quest to become the best pirate around. Recently it also became a Monopoly game, joining Mario and other video game series that have had their own exclusive Monopoly boards made.

Available from the official Rare store, the set includes custom pirate themed player pieces, new Sea of Thieves style money, and a unique board featuring a ton of locations from the popular video game. Many video game themed Monopoly boards come with a unique add on, Pac-Man Monopoly came with a working mini arcade cabinet for instance, but the extra little something bundled with the Sea of Thieves edition comes in the form of in-game content.

Everyone who purchases Rare's Sea of Thieves edition of Monopoly will also get a DLC code that unlocks the Gold Curse Macaw as a pet in the actual video game itself. Pets have been a big part of Sea of Thieves since they first appeared in the game, and the special DLC code for the new Gold Curse Macaw will allow players access to the animal before its regular in-game release later in 2021.

While plenty of updates continue to be released for Sea of Thieves, the new Monopoly board offers fans a chance to remain in their favorite pirate filled world while spending a little time away from the screen. The special edition board game is selling for $49.99 and is available exclusively from Rare's online store.

Sea of Thieves is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
