A Call of Duty: Warzone fan is tired of seeing weapons appear within the Gulag environment, and is calling for a more simplified experience.

For many Call of Duty: Warzone fans, the Gulag acts as a true competitive chance to be better than another player. Randomized weapons, no gear, and usually balanced maps provide a test of skill and reflexes. Despite this, weapons from Call of Duty: Warzone have begun to appear in the Gulag that has ruined the experience for some fans.

The Gulag is a distinct experience that separates Call of Duty: Warzone from other battle royale games. While it is innovative, it is not perfect by community standards. Call of Duty: Warzone streamers have voiced several opinions on changes that could improve or ruin the Gulag experience.

One player posted to the Warzone subreddit complaining that recent weapon rotations have ruined the Gulag experience. JustAMicrowav1n vented their frustrations to the community and pointed out that certain weapons can affect the experience of these showdowns. The player criticizes the choice to run fists, throwing knives, and sniper rifles in the Gulag. When it comes to weapon randomization, the player points out that there are technical issues when it comes to combat with ineffective options, such as fist-based Gulags being dependent upon latency or stun grenade usage.

While the player does acknowledge the need to shake up the Gulag and offer alternative options, there is a limit to what weapons should be in the match. Many Call of Duty: Warzone assault and tactical rifles are reasonable, but snipers and throwing knives seem to be more luck than skill, according to this fan.

The player is calling for the Gulag to revert back to its old standards. Pistols, SMGs, assault rifles, and light machine guns are all viable in this setting, they say, but other weapon categories are too inconsistent to be fun. Call of Duty: Warzone players have brought up this topic before when the Gulag initially introduced snipers. Back then, it was considered an interesting gimmick, but now fans are wondering if it should still be that way.

While the fan makes some decent points, other players disagree with the idea of a simplified Gulag. The game is meant to be fun, and while it is competitive, the unpredictability of the Gulag is part of its charm for many. Call of Duty: Warzone is all about improvising and dealing with difficult situations; consistency brings about a meta and takes away the randomization that creates a potentially healthy battle royale environment.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
