During Fortnite's dominance of the Battle Royal market, it looked like no game developer would be able to match its success. Activision and Infinity Ward saw what was working so well with the BR community and created Call of Duty: Warzone, a 150-person Battle Royal with integrations such as a Gulag system, loadout function, and much more, which took off in popularity. However, cheating and hacking occur consistently, but fixes are reportedly on the way.

Call of Duty: Warzone is known for several things in the gaming industry. It helped bridge the gap between Fortnite's reign and the "next big thing" for Battle Royal players. Not only that, but Call of Duty is a franchise that carries weight with more than just BR gamers. It was a perfect formula to succeed. However, even Warzone tournaments are suffering due to the lack of a strong anti-cheat function, so Infinity Ward decided to double-down on its efforts to stop hacking.

A post was shared on Reddit by u/SSMKh regarding Activision and Infinity Ward's efforts to halt hacking and cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone. The developer and publisher noted that 24/7 monitoring was promised. "ALL possible cheats and hacks are reviewed." Alongside updates coming soon with its anti-cheat system, over 50,000 permanent bans were instituted already.

For good reason, the Reddit user was very skeptical about Activision's response to the rampant cheating that continues to be relevant in Call of Duty: Warzone. Not only is there a problem with hacking, bugs consistently make their way into the game. A recent glitch was found involving a ghillie suit that would make the Warzone player invisible. Needless to say, that should not survive in the game for any amount of time due to its game-breaking ability.

Overall, Call of Duty: Warzone is a massive success. While 2020 was not a great year for many people, Activision's innovation of the Battle Royal market proved to create a worldwide phenomenon that even brought over a mass exodus of content creators trying to find a new game when Fortnite was on the creative decline.

Conversely, a new report suggests content creators are considering leaving Call fo Duty: Warzone due to the current state of the game. CourageJD, a prominent YouTube gaming star, is playing more Valorant these days. TimtheTatMan and NickMercs are still playing full-time, but both have voiced their opinions about the current anti-cheat system. If the developers want Call of Duty: Warzone to continue to flourish, keeping their promises would go a long way with the community sooner, rather than later.
