PlayStation and Red Bull team up to deliver an in-game photography competition that can net entrants $1,300 worth of PlayStation products.

Becoming a fixture of the modern blockbuster over the last decade, the vast majority of games now feature a photo mode, allowing players to pause the action and frame a striking screenshot. From Death Stranding and Super Smash Bros Ultimate to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man, games from a variety of genres have implemented the ability to capture amazing images.

It seems PlayStation's now looking to reach out to its community and compile some of the best examples of these in-game captures, teaming up with Red Bull to host a virtual photography competition. The "Red Bull Capture Point" contest will only be open to US players and can be entered from now until May 2.

For those wondering what the rules are, players can take up to 18 in-game screenshots from five participating PlayStation titles: Demon's Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Last of Us 2. After grabbing a screenshot from any of the games included, they must be uploaded from the console to Twitter along with the hashtags "#RedBullCapturePoint" and "#Contest." The screenshots will then be judged by a panel of video game creatives from the studios behind each participating game, with there being a selection of winners in a number of categories.

As for what the creators of the top-rated pieces in each category will receive, it seems they'll be awarded a bundle of PlayStation goodies, including a PlayStation 5, a DualSense controller, a charging kit, a pulse headset, 12 months of PS Plus, 12 months of PS Now, one of PlayStation's upcoming blockbuster releases, and a Red Bull trophy. They'll also be advanced to the Best of Show competition which will net the winners even more prizes. Third place in the contest will receive $500, second place will receive $1,000 dollars, and first place will win a whopping $1,500 dollars. It's definitely a good opportunity for fans of each game with a solid eye for photography.

Each game will definitely be able to provide some solid options for players looking to frame, edit, and post an epic screenshot. Demon's Souls was lorded for its dynamic photo mode when it released late last year, while God of War has recently gotten a PlayStation 5 upgrade that spruces up the game's visual capabilities. Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Last of Us 2 were all touted as some of the most visually impressive games of the generation as well, so they're sure to also set up some absolutely breathtaking photo ops.

PlayStation and Redbull's Capture Point contest will run from February 2 to May 2.
