Zack Snyder continues to celebrate the DC film universe in the run up to his version of Justice League, which is set to premiere on HBO Max this March. Snyder's version of the film, which will feature a bevy of content that was originally cut from his version, is also set to include some faces that didn't make it into the original cut, including rumors that Jared Leto's Joker would be in Snyder's 4-hour film.
While much of the new content for the film is coming from material that was edited out and re-worked, Snyder has also filmed a few entirely new scenes for the film. One of those new scenes will supposedly feature a return of Jared Leto as the Joker, a role he played in DC's Suicide Squad, but did not return for in Justice League or the Birds of Prey film.

Recently Zack Snyder put out a new image on Twitter in order to tease the new version of Justice League, following the release of several new posters for the project. This one was a more low-key reveal than some of his other ones, simply featuring an out-of-focus shot of the Joker holding up a joker playing card with the comment "Amazing character you created. Honored to have our worlds collide."
The director also tagged Jared Leto, as well as David Ayer, the director of Suicide Squad. This isn't the first time Snyder has shouted out David Ayer in particular, having supported the idea of Ayer getting his own director's cut of Suicide Squad. Ayer has repeatedly stated that his version of Suicide Squad is not the version that audiences saw, and has publicly mused about wanting his own Snyder-Cut style rework of the film.
While it's not confirmed, this image presumably comes from Snyder's re-shoots, which raises interesting questions about what role the character was intended to play or will play when the new version of the film hits HBO Max. Perhaps there will be more teases going forward, as there's still at least a month before the project finally premieres.
Until Zack Snyder's Justice League is finally available, fans will just have to speculate about the where, when, and why of Jared Leto's appearance in the film. Hopefully, it will all be worth the wait when it's finally on streaming.
Zack Snyder's Justice League will be on HBO Max starting March 18, 2021.
