Interest in Ubisoft's competitive platform fighter Brawlhalla builds as its most ambitious tournament series yet boasts a million dollar prize pot.

Since its official release in 2017, Ubisoft's Brawlhalla has grown well beyond its initial comparisons to the Super Smash Bros. series and into a mighty 52 playable character roster fueling a very healthy competitive scene. Brawlhalla has been pulling in so many concurrent players in fact that the next series of tournament bouts aims to bring the best of the best towards an unprecedented $1 million dollar prize pool.

Having received a sizeable patch 5.02 update back in January that added a new playable legend as well as several balance changes, Brawlhalla's more ready than ever to keep all degrees of fans tuning in throughout 2021. Featuring full crossplay support across nearly every system, the accessibility and free-to-play nature of the game means anyone interested can experience the action for themselves.

Spanning a series of six international championships from February all throughout the year up until the finals in November, this tournament will not be booking any venues for the event due to the pandemic, much to the displeasure of the fighting games community. Instead, the event will be viewable in its entirety online, complete with commentary, both widening the event's viewership and keeping its most dedicated fans safe.

Among the 52 playable characters are all manner of special guests appear in Brawlhalla from games, TV, movies, and even professional wrestling, leaning into a pop-culture appeal certain to grab the attention of newcomers to the game. Registration for tournament participation is ongoing through the game's official website, but coming to an end quickly, meaning would-be contenders should act soon or be left out of this monumental year for Brawlhalla's competitive scene.
