Ambarino is one of the deadlier places in Red Dead Online. Here are some tips to fishing in the cold, Northern area.

When playing Red Dead Onlineplayers might find themselves wanting to get out of the cities. The wilderness of Ambrino allows for this, giving players plenty of space where NPCs are scarce. This also allows for players to hunt and fish in peace. The lack of NPCs also allows for more animals to hunt.

On top of the regular animals, players can potentially find legendary animals in this area. Ambrino is one of the more unique areas in Red Dead II. Players who venture into this area are probably wondering the best way to be successful while hunting and fishing.

10 Dress Warmly

Players who venture into Ambrino should make sure they have some heavy clothing. The constant snow makes it cold, potentially making a player's health go down. Having an outfit saved to a horse will do well enough to help in this situation.

Buying a heavy coat from a store will serve the player as they venture through this region. They can then go hunting off the main road without worrying about freezing to death. Luckily enough, players do not need to worry about their horse freezing.

9 Watch Out For Attacking Animals

As expected, some animals can prove to be a danger to the player. Wild riding through the wilderness, red dots may appear on the minimap. These are not human enemies, instead being wolves, mountain lions, or bears. Players run the risk of being bucked off their horse.

If players are bucked off their horse, they will have to fight these enemies or run away. Wolves and mountain lions are easier to fight off while bears present a challenge. The good thing – if players win the fight they now have pelts and bodies to sell.

8 Look For Snow Tracks

The snow on the ground does provide a little bonus when hunting. Players can see the tracks of different animals as they travel through Ambrino. The size of the tracks in the snow can also give an indication of how big the animal the player is after is.

The snow tracks also helps the player while on the search for smaller animals. The smaller animals are quick, but the snow indentions can give players a good idea which way the prey went. As players travel on the roads, snow tracks can start a good session of hunting.

7 Eagle Eye Helps

Snow tracks are helpful, but some areas of Ambrino do not have snow. Eagle Eye can come in handy here, allowing players to track animals down. Eagle Eye also helps players know where to shoot an animal for the most damage.

Eagle Eye also lets players know which way the wind is going, letting players sneak around an animal. If an animal catches the player's scent, they will most likely run away in fear. Eagle Eye also shows players where a plant is, giving players the opportunity to pick a new herb.

6 Bring Different Ammo Types

Ambrino is full of different types of animals, so it is worth bringing different ammo types. Varmint ammo is best used against the tinier creatures, such as squirrels and birds. For fans of the bow, small game arrows can be used as a replacement.

High-velocity ammo can be used for animals that group together. Shooting and killing more than one deer will make any hunter feel good. Some ammo gives players a boost, potentially allowing for an advantage while on the hunt.

5 Look In The Trees

While riding around on the road, be sure to look up in trees. Players might be able to find different types of birds. Hunting these creatures can give players the tools to craft arrows, while also giving something to sell. Larger creatures, such as owls and eagles, can be found at the top of trees.

Scaring birds in a tree can also give players a challenge. If a number of birds fly away, players can see how many they shoot down. Afterwards, be sure to pick up any birds that might be found.

4 Legendary Winyan Bison Can Be Found

Players might run across a yellow bison while in Ambrino. The legendary Winyan bison can be found around Lake Isabella or the Deadboot Creek. It can also be found in clear weather from the hours of 9 pm to 6 am.

After taking down the creature, the pelt can be sold to Gus Macmillan. Gus will craft the pelt into clothing for the player, giving them a Winyan hood and coat.

3 Stranger Mission Helps With Hunting

Players who venture near O'Creagh's Run will run into a familiar face. Hamish Sinclair can be found near his cabin or in the wilderness hunting. He is one of the many strangers the player can find that gives out missions. Some of these tasks involve hunting.

Players might have to hunt wolves, while other times they might be tasked with hunting down a cougar. On top of getting paid for completing a job, players can also be paid when they sell the animal's pelt.

2 Can Find Rare White Arabian

While this hunting does not include killing, it involves players finding a unique horse. The White Arabian is one of the most unique horses the player can find in the game. It can only be found in the wild, being located west of Lake Isabella.

Players need to make sure they are being cautious as they approach the horse. Spooking the Arabian will cause it to run off quickly, causing a chase to occur. After mounting this horse, make sure to give it a saddle.

1 Legendary Sockeye Salmon Found In Ambrino

Players who are near Lake Isabella can find a legendary fish. Using a special lake lure on an overcast day will give players the best chance to catch this fish. Casting a lure near the surface bubbles will cause the sockeye salmon to grab the player's bait.

After fighting back and forth with the fish, players can put it on the back of their horse. Bringing the fish to a store or a butcher will fetch an impressive price. Plus, who doesn't like a fun fishing trip?
