Streamer Chris "AirsoftPhatty" LaFon has been permanently banned from Twitch, though for a different reason than most bans that have occurred recently. Twitch has been cracking down on streamers for breaking its terms of service guidelines for streaming. Many of the recent Twitch bans have been issued in accordance with Twitch's updated policy, which more heavily monitors hate and harassment speech as well as "sexually focused insults."
However, streamers are being banned at a high rate, including some high profile streamers like Dr Disrespect, Voyboy, xQc, and ZeRo. Some bans are only temporary, but others are permanent in severe cases. However, some streamers and fans have pointed out that not all bans have been equal, and feel as if Twitch targets certain accounts.

While some Twitch streamers are being banned for hateful speech during streams, AirsoftPhatty's case is a little different. The Twitch streamer received his ban for the hateful conduct of his viewers. AirsoftPhatty's stream does not feature any moderators, which is what landed him his permanent ban. According to a tweet from AirsoftPhatty showing his notification of the ban, he had violated the terms of service with "unmoderated hateful conduct."
According to Twitch, this can include allowing text-to-speech donations that include hateful symbols, allowing users to spam hateful slurs without any attempt of moderation, or allowing user-submitted videos focused on xenophobic beliefs to play on stream.
While it is not known which of these rules he violated, it is ultimately his lack of moderation that has landed him the indefinite ban. It is possible that AirsoftPhatty made an honest mistake allowing hateful content to slip through from his viewers, however, it is possible that the streamer was aware of the hateful conduct while streaming. Because it is an indefinite ban, AirsoftPhatty will have to move to another platform like YouTube or Facebook in order to continue streaming.
Twitch streamers have been subject to bans for hateful conduct, but another Twitch guideline is claiming many more streamers. Recently, DMCA strikes have resulted in bans for a number of popular streamers. Popular Soccer star Neymar was banned merely a month into the start of his streaming for what is believed to be a DMCA strike, and popular Starcraft and Hearthstone player Forsen was recently banned for what fans believe to be the same reason. While some Twitch bans are rightfully deserved for offensive actions, some streamers are being met with strict punishments for copyright issues, or in AirsoftPhatty's case, his own viewers.
