The original Charmed ran from 1998 to 2006 and at the risk of creating a terrible pun, it certainly charmed viewers. The series would go on to inspire many other supernatural stories for TV shows for years to come. There is a reason to this day that you can still find reruns of the show on certain channels.

It's worth looking back at what made the original series great so that it can inspire the currently popular Charmed reboot. The original series did some things too perfectly to be ignored, and certain episodes will always stand out in the minds of fans as being particularly amazing.
10 S4 EP13: Charmed And Dangerous - 8.8 Stars
Piper and Paige losing their powers was the focus of this episode. The Seer breaks a long-standing agreement between good and evil and steals The Hollow, an ancient vapor that he uses to absorb their powers.
The episode was action-packed and held more life-threatening situations than most other episodes in the series. It also begins one of the best story arcs of the entire series, making it the perfect example of why season four built momentum for the series going forward.
9 S5 EP12: Centennial Charmed - 8.8 Stars
Cole and Phoebe's relationship always was tense in one way or another, but this episode brought that to a fever pitch. When Cole casts a spell that alters reality, it causes a large number of unforeseen effects. All of the innocents the sisters have saved are dead, and for some reason, none of the sisters seem to remember Paige in any way.
The episode is filled with tons of twists and turns it could inspire an entirely separate list, so we won't try to explain it all here. Needless to say, this is the strongest episode of season five and set along a chain of events that radiated out through the entire series.
8 S7 EP10: Witchness Protection - 8.8 Stars
The Avatars' insistence that Leo protects a Seer named Kira sparks off the beginning of this episode. Kira does reveal in a vision that there is a possibility for a future without demons that can exist.

In the end, they are unable to protect Kira. After being released by some minor demons, Zankou is able to storm the manner and kill the Seer. This episode shows so much hope for the future but leaves the path forward uncertain. It's the perfect way to leave fans hanging and set up for the final events of season seven.
7 S7 EP16: The Seven Year Witch - 8.8 Stars
This episode in particular focuses on Leo and his punishment by the Elders. Instead of the expected punishment, however, he is forced to complete a test. He is completely mind-wiped and sent to a Texas small town where one of the elders attempts to steer him away from the Charmed Ones forever.
If this wasn't enough, Cole makes another appearance in this episode confirming that he wasn't fully vanquished after the end of season five like many fans expected. So many little things were revealed in this episode with plenty of Easter eggs for fans that it's no wonder it is so positively remembered by them.
6 S1 EP17: That 70's Episode - 8.9 Stars
This episode named after a famous sitcom features the sisters traveling back to the 70s where they end up meeting their mother and their grandmother. They have to stop their mother from making a deal with a warlock who plans to steal their powers.
It's always fun looking back at the childhoods of your favorite characters, it's one of the things fans of almost any series like to speculate about. The opportunity to see it filmed in an episode proper was wonderful, especially within the first season.
5 S4 EP20: Long Live The Queen - 8.9 Stars
If Paige and Piper do not die, civil war will break out within the underworld. The new Source and his queen have to seek them out and complete the task, giving this episode some serious tension.
This episode puts Phoebe in a bind as she has to decide if she maintains her relationship with Cole over her relationship with her sisters. The final scenes of this episode are beautiful and emotionally impactful. We won't spoil it for you but it's certainly worth watching the series to get to this point and see what happens.
4 S7 EP22: Something Wicca This Way Goes - 8.9 Stars
Zankou, not satisfied with simply killing Kira, returns at the end of season seven to steal the Book of Shadows. He has plans to take over the Nexus and become the ultimate Source. In this episode, the sisters accept that they will likely die even trying to keep the Nexus out of Zankou's hands.

If this wasn't enough, homeland security ends up storming the manner during the final climax of the episode. Charmed has always been known for its amazing season finale, this one stands out as being particularly momentous. It left fans with their jaws dropped waiting to see the final conclusion that would come in season eight.
3 S1 EP22: Déjà Vu All Over Again - 9.1 Stars
It's hard to think of a better way to end the first season than with one of the best episodes ever produced. Déjà Vu All Over Again was the perfect way to get fans of the series excited for what was to come. This episode was almost like Groundhog Day where the demon Tempus attempted to kill the sisters while turning back time each time he failed to do so to try again. It absolutely keeps viewers on the edge of their seats as they wait to see if he finds success.
2 S3 EP22: All Hell Breaks Loose - 9.2 Stars
Once again, charmed manages to put out another fantastic season finale. When the sisters take in a doctor to protect them from an evil demon assassin named Shax, no one could've expected how close to death they would become. The sisters become exposed on live television as witches and Piper is even shot by a fanatic because of this.
Pheobe is forced to make a deal to stay with Tempus in order for him to turn back time so that they won't be exposed and that Piper will still be alive. Season three ending with her being forced to stay with the demon is a fantastic cliffhanger that left fans longing for season four.
1 S8 EP22: Forever Charmed - 9.3 Stars
It only seems fitting that the final episode of the original series is considered to be the best one by fans. Piper is unable to accept the death of her sisters and with the help of Coop, travels back in time to try to prevent their deaths.
Time travel shenanigans always risk the potential of being done poorly, but fans agree that this episode was the perfect sendoff for an incredible series. We won't spoil the ending, we only recommend people go and watch the series for themselves to see why forever charmed was this incredibly excellent.
