Destruction AllStars is available for free to all PS Plus subscribers on PS5. The game features high-speed vehicular action where players use their own vehicle as a weapon to take out the opposition. Mayhem mode is a free-for-all of car wrecks and carnage where players try to score as many points as possible to come in first place. There are several ways to score points by hitting enemy cars or drivers, but the points earned will depend on how hard players hit enemies and exactly what happens due to the impact.
While there are many ways to capitalize on the number of points earned in Destruction Allstars' Mayhem mode, the most important thing to understand is the number of points each kind of impact is worth.

The harder the impact, the more points a player will earn. A Wreck will destroy a player's car, while an Annihilation takes out not just the car but the unfortunate driver who was unable to bail out in time. Characters can also traverse the arena on foot, and hitting one is worth a single point, while KOing another player is worth 5 points.
- Light Hit - 1 point
- Medium Hit - 2 points
- Heavy Hit - 3 points
- Extreme Hit - 4 Points
- Wreck - 5 points
- Annihilation - 8 points
- Hitting a driver - 1 point
- KOing a drive - 5 points
To score lots of points, it is important to correctly time boosts until just before the moment of impact. By pressing forward on the right thumbstick, players can give vehicles a boost of speed, smashing into other vehicles and scoring more points by performing a much stronger impact. The priority targets should always be opponents with a low health bar. These vehicles can then be taken out, earning extra points for Wrecks or even Annihilations if the opponent fails to see the impact coming. A clever tactic is to let two players damage each other's health bars, then swoop in for the kill and get a double Wreck or Annihilation, instantly earning between 10 and 16 points.
The secret weapon that all drivers have in the game is their signature vehicle. By doing enough damage and collecting the small pink shards that float around the arena, players can earn the right to call in their own special vehicle by hitting L1 when they are on foot. These all have a Breaker ability, which usually translates into a way to damage large numbers of enemies in a short amount of time. By aiming for a large group of enemies and using their Breaker, players can often run up large numbers of points by doing considerable damage to multiple vehicles and drivers. This is an equally valid tactic in the game's many other modes.
Finally, players should also consider that every point denied to an enemy is essentially a point earned. Being aware of what enemies are doing, keeping a close eye on the radar, and regularly switching vehicles to deny Wreck and Annihilation opportunities to enemies is a surefire way for players to get their hands on plenty of first-place trophies.
