Earning a promotion is one of the core ways of accessing the endgame in Deep Rock Galactic, and this guide will help players learn how.

Deep Rock Galactic involves groups of dwarven miners exploring dangerous caves for resources. Part of the game's appeal is leveling up the four available classes and customizing their kits. From weapons and mods to perks and cosmetics, Deep Rock Galactic has it all. One of the things players can do is earn a promotion, so check out this guide to learn how.

Promotion serves as a way to expand the endgame goals and options for Deep Rock Galactic players. The first-person shooter by Ghost Ship Games offers some of the most enjoyable content after reaching the new tier. Accessing extra cosmetics and weapon overclock mods requires promotion, so miners will want to achieve it. Plus, once a class gets the promotion, it will unlock an extra perk slot and honor badge.

To even get the option for promotion, players will need to first reach rank 25 on a dwarf class. For those just beginning, the grind will be extensive but just take on assignments and join current missions. Once reaching this rank, the promotion-specific quest will become available. Head over to the main assignment board and activate the task to get started.

Players will immediately notice that they need to now complete four individual missions to achieve promotion. These quests will vary depending on classes, such as the engineer, so doing promotions with friends can require some extra work. Regardless, the first mission will always be a mining expedition so it starts a little easier. Expect jobs like Salvage Operations, Egg Hunts, and Escort duty while working through the promotion assignment.

After completing these four missions, players are ready to give their dwarf a promotion. Head to the character select screen which is found in the main bedchamber, from there the promote button will be visible. However, there is actually one more catch before selecting it. To actually get the promotion, dwarves will need to dish out a large amount of Credits and Crafting Materials. It is likely this will not be a problem after all the grinding, but big spenders could get held up here. If so, just continue taking quests and drink the Pots O' Gold ale for as a way to buff gold amounts.

Assuming the player has the necessary currency, just select promote and finish the job. After doing this, the dwarf's rank will return to 1 and players can continue leveling up their class to 25 again. With this title, a plethora of new content will become available. Fans can now take on Deep Dives, which are tough endgame missions that involve multiple quest types in one. The assignment Breach the Core appears too, which upon finishing unlocks the Weekly Core Hunt assignment. With new mission types being added, there is no better time to jump into Deep Rock Galactic.

Deep Rock Galactic is available now on PC and Xbox One.
