Assassin's Creed Valhalla takes players into the ancient world of Vikings through the eyes of Eivor. A modern characteristic of the Assassin's Creed series is the emphasis on visceral combat with varying enemies. One of the quests found in the game which focuses on combat is Defensive Measures. While some parts of the mission can be straightforward, players will want to use this guide to easily finish it.
While most of the game takes place in a realistic world, Eivor can travel to mythical locations. By finishing the Going Deeper quest and using a potion, players can explore the lands of Asgard. Once reaching that point, there is an entire saga of missions to complete. To complete the quest chain, gamers will need to beat the third mission, Defensive Measures. To start, players must head to the southernmost island, and aim for the northeast territory of the area.

Search around for a character known as the Builder to start Defensive Measures. The first step is simple enough, Eivor has to collect blue jars that are around the area. When looking around, there will be nearby pillars where the pots can be found. Grab and carry them back to the Builder's location to continue the quest. After this, Eivor will take a few moments to witness a demo of the Builder's shield project.
Now that it is functioning, players will need to test the shield by attracting enemies to it. Fortunately, the map now has markers with a variety of spots to find these targets. Choose one, preferably the closest, and gain the attention of all the nearby enemies. Players have to avoid killing these targets, and lure them to where the Builder's shield area is. Control male or female Eivor to run through the barrier and watch as the enemies are killed.
After that, the tricky part begins as the shield ends up failing after some time. Essentially, the player needs to face off against all the invaders that manage to break through the barrier. Make use of the best weapons and gear on hand to deal with the increasing waves. Continue fighting until the Builder is able to reactive the shield, and any remaining targets will die. Tweaking the difficulty setting can be another way to finish this quest if the new style combat is too hard.
Finally, get through the cutscene and Eivor can speak to the Builder to finish the quest. This is only a stepping stone in the Asgard Saga, so do not expect any major rewards at this point. Afterwards, players can continue exploring to move on to another mission. The world is massive in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but this guide should help players check off their to-do list in Asgard.
