In the lead-up to the Super Bowl, Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes talks about his preferred Call of Duty: Warzone loadout with reporters.

Patrick Mahomes is one of the most celebrated quarterbacks in the NFL. After winning the Super Bowl last year and breaking the Madden curse for the Kansas City Chiefs, Mahomes signed a 10-year contract potentially worth over $500 million USD. In his first few years in the NFL, he has made quite a name for himself, and as a result has achieved some degree of celebrity status. This means that when Mahomes talks about Call of Duty: Warzone, people take notice, and wonder what weapons the quarterback runs with when he plays.

With the Super Bowl coming up this Sunday, the week leading up has players fielding questions from the media, and advertisers prepare their big ads to run during the game. Riding its recent wave of press thanks to the GameStop stock short, trading app Robinhood has prepared an ad to air during the Super Bowl. While many folks tune in just for the ads, those interested in the players often get to learn a lot during the lead up to the big game.

During an interview, Mahomes was asked about his loadout for Call of Duty: Warzone, rather than football, and Mahomes talked about the guns he likes to run with. Given that he is busy with his day job, he said he hasn't had much of an opportunity to drop into Verdansk, but has been using the Kilo and the MAC-10 as his main loadout. While the Kilo took a hit recently thanks to a nerf, the MAC-10 remains a dominant gun in Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone has drawn in all kinds of players from regular everyday folk to professional athletes, as it has become more apparent that some athletes enjoy playing video games to unwind in their down time. Twitch streamers have played with NBA players, who were active when the pandemic shut down the NBA season in April 2020.

It is unlikely that Mahomes will be playing any Warzone this week, as the Super Bowl is fast approaching. In a simulated game on Madden NFL 21, EA's annual Super Bowl prediction gives the edge to Kansas City. This is in line with most predictions, though anyone who counts Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out is probably living dangerously.

Once the NFL season is over, Mahomes will have a chance to catch up on the latest Call of Duty: Warzone meta. For now, he is focused on winning the Super Bowl, and likely doesn't have time to take that Kilo out of his loadout.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
