While most Overwatch heroes have an abundance of awesome alternate looks, Moira’s skin lineup is full of similar designs to her base model. As such, one Overwatch fan has given Moira something more unique, and the outfit sees the support hero getting an incredible redesign.
While Overwatch may be seeing a fox hero join the roster soon, bringing plenty of lore related to the animal to life, deadfirelord’s skin concept depicts Moira bringing some Chinese tales to life. Huli Jing Moira gets her name from a nine-tailed fox that creates chaos inside various folk tales from China, and with Moira’s role as a twisted scientist, such a role fits her personality well. Aside from having lore tied to the skin like several other Lunar New Year costumes, Huli Jing Moira is simply a cool skin.

Though Moira O’deorain retains her fiery red hair, the heavily reworked Overwatch character sees a new hairstyle attached to the skin. Looser and slightly longer, the hair is a great fit for the character, and the purple flower resting within it is an excellent touch. The lengthy earings and thin choker work well, with the black lipstick making sense for the theme — standing out even more due to Moira’s pale white skin. Another cool touch sees Moira wearing different sleeves, with a white one for her healing arm and a red for her damage-dealing appendage.
The star of the show is without a doubt Moira’s robe, however, as the lavish gold cloak would be enough to satisfy any fan of the hero. The silky purple and orange layers are a great contrast to the clothing item’s main color, and the pink boots worn by the hero also work well. Keeping Moira’s key characteristics intact while also doing something special, the skin would be great to see in-game — even though Moira already has a Lunar New Year Skin.
While deafirelord’s Huli Jing Moira concept is a great one, it could not appear in Overwatch until 2022 at the earliest. Even if Blizzard took inspiration from the design and wanted to bring it to life, the Year of the Ox event is already life inside Overwatch. Bringing a new brawl that sees all players hunting after one person inside free-for-all and the return of Capture the Flag, there is plenty to do in the event — even if Moira fans lack new cosmetics like the Huli Jing outfit to strive for.
Still, when next year comes around, it would be great to see Blizzard bring this fan creation to life. This fox-inspired take on Moira would look great alongside skins such as Kkachi Echo and Tiger Huntress Ashe, and it should be more than just a memorable skin concept.
Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
