Call of Duty: Warzone Bug Keeps Players From Changing Operators

A new Call of Duty: Warzone bug sees players struggling to change their in-game appearance, as the issue locks fans to a single operator.

Following the integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone has become full of unique operators to play as. However, a puzzling new issue is stopping Call of Duty: Warzone fans from accessing operator-related content altogether.

With new Call of Duty operators constantly being added, part of the appeal is being able to use them in both the game they made their debut in and Call of Duty: Warzone. However, fans of Call of Duty’s free-to-play offering have found that a bug is making several operators off-limits, locking them into a single character choice. While this kind of issue would be a major problem on its own, the fact that it seems to be impacting many players makes it even worse.

A video posted by @DEXERTOIntel on Twitter shows the glitch in action, with the player using the popular operator Mara. However, when the gamer posting the clip attempts to interact with the operators tab, nothing happens. Several clicks do not see the problem solving itself despite a sound being made, as the operators section remains closed off. Considering that players impacted by the glitch cannot even see the massive lineup of operators to choose from, being annoyed is understandable — especially if fans just purchased a skin from the in-game store and cannot equip it.

Worse, the issue seems to be plaguing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 as well. Much like with the Call of Duty: Warzone bug, the operators tab is not functioning at all for some players, with this entire section of the game being locked away. Considering that the Soap MacTavish operator bundle is supposedly coming to Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare soon, fixing this problem sooner rather than later will surely be a priority for Raven and Activision.

The bug seems to have been caused by Call of Duty: Warzone’s new update, which fixed several other problems players have been experiencing — including the dreaded Stim glitch. Playlists were also changed, and while the update seemed to be filled with positive aspects, it seems to have come with a negative one as well. Hopefully this is an easy fix on the part of Raven, as having to wait several days to use operators once again could prove to be very annoying for the game’s community.

Further, while this bug may be squashed soon, the Stim glitch has proven that major Call of Duty: Warzone issues can return despite being patched out of the game. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 likely to introduce a major new operator like Stitch, this issue stopping players from using the next character could make it even more troublesome.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
