Terraria has a surprisingly deep specialization system based around the game's four main weapon categories, with special items and armor sets to maximize each's potential. Melee is one of the strongest classes to play, particularly in the late-game, with a wide arsenal to choose from.
One of the best items to attain early on is the Power Glove, which is a significant boon to players in Terraria. It provides an increase to melee speed, increases weapon knockback and size, extending the reach, and it allows players to auto-swing whatever weapon they may have.

Fortunately, it just requires a little dedicated looting, and some luck on the world generation, to get the two ingredients required to craft the Power Glove.
The two things a player needs to craft the Power Glove are the Feral Claws and the Titan Glove, both of which can be collected before defeating any bosses. It should be noted that a player's Terraria world must be on Hardmode, or else they will be unable to find the Titan Glove, and thus its subsequent iterations.
The Titan Glove is part of a Mimic's loot pool. Mimics look like actual chests underground, but once a player approaches, they will spring to life and attack them. They can be pesky earlier on in the game if a player does not have strong armor or weapons, as Mimics deal a lot of damage and have a lot of health. Unlike normal chests, Mimics may not be sitting entirely on blocks, like so:
The Titan Glove has a 1/7, or 14.29% chance, to drop from a Mimic, equal to the other items in its loot pool. That's a better chance than a lot of items in Terraria, though Mimics can be hard to come by, so there will be a bit of a grind.
The Feral Claws can be found in the Underground Jungle biome, in either Ivy Chests in Jungle Shrines or in the base of a Living Mahogany Tree. It has about a 20% chance of appearing, so the odds are slightly better than the Titan Glove.
The Power Glove can't be crafted at a Workbench or an Anvil like most items. A player must have access to a Tinkerer's Workshop, which can be purchased from a Goblin Tinkerer, an NPC that's only available after defeating the Goblin Army world event. A simple process, indeed.
If a player has the Titan Glove and the Feral Claws in their inventory, simply approach the Tinkerer's Workshop and the Power Glove should appear in the crafting interface. Later in the game, the Power Glove can be combined with other items to make the Berserker's Glove or the Mechanical Glove, either of which are essential for the Melee class.
Terraria is out now on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS, PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One, 3DS, and Switch.
