In Genshin Impact's early game, many players tend to prioritize Attack percentage, while in the late game, one of the most important stats is Crit Rate. This month's Starglitter Exchange features a variety of weapons that focus on this stat, including the Royal Greatsword.
The special effect of the Royal Greatsword is that each time the player damages an opponent, their Crit Rate increases by 8%, for a maximum of 5 stacks. When a critical hit is obtained by the player, the stack counter resets.

As is the case for most special effects in Genshin Impact, with each weapon ascension, the stats for the effect increase. At level 2, the Royal Greatsword's Crit Rate increase is raised to 10%, at level 3 - 12%, level 4-14%. and finally, at level 5 the Crit Rate increases to 16%.
To put the effect in context, if the player has Royal Greatsword at ascension level 5, at 5 damage stacks their Crit Rate will be 80%. As a result, players who are optimizing their Genshin Impact artifacts in the late game don't need to place as much emphasis on Crit Rate, and can instead opt for additional stats such as Crit Damage.
What is important to note is that the Crit Rate increase will occur whenever the player damages the enemy, not just hits with the Royal Greatsword. This includes any Talents or Ultimate Abilities that deal constant damage over time.
As a result, this weapon is especially beneficial for characters that have a higher base attack that can benefit from a higher critical rate such as Diluc. Additionally, each of the Royal series weapons secondary stat is Attack Percentage, which grows by 6 percent upon each ascension.
Currently, the only way to obtain the Royal Greatsword is through the Starglitter Exchange in Paimon's bargains. Unlike the items available for purchase through the Stardust Exchange, the items, weapons, and characters available through the Starglitter Exchange rotate every month.
Currently, the characters available through the Starglitter Exchange include Beidou and Noelle, and the weapons available include the Royal Longsword, Royal Greatsword, Royal Spear, Royal Grimoire, and Royal Bow. Each of the characters can be purchased for 34 Masterless Starglitter and the Royal weapons can be purchased for 24 Masterless Starglitter.
For those players unfamiliar with the exchange, Masterless StarGlitter is obtained when the player pulls an already owned character or 4-5 star weapon through the wish system. As a result, there is no consistent way to farm Masterless Starglitter, as it can only be obtained by chance.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
