Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated games of all time before its December 10th, 2020 release. Even if the game ran fine, it probably would not have lived up to the massive hype. However, it ended up hitting stores as a buggy mess.

What works in it is great, but one cannot be blamed for not looking past the embarrassing technical issues. All of those Keanu Reeves memes about his involvement in the game look different now that the highly-awaited title is now considered one of the biggest disappointments of the past ten years. We all still love Keanu, however.
10 Turn Out, There Really Is Nothing To Worry About
Norman Reedus in Death Stranding was an awesome surprise, but even he does not compare to Keanu Reeves. Reedus wins in the gaming acting department, however, since Death Stranding was released without a flurry of technical issues rendering the game nigh unplayable. Not everybody loves Hideo Kojima's 2019 science fiction epic, but it at least does what it sets out to do. Players also control Norman Reedus, instead of him hanging around like a ghost.
9 How Does Keanu Feel?
Somebody whose voice has been mysteriously absent from the post-launch conversation around Cyberpunk 2077 is Keanu Reeves. Does he care, or does he see his work on the title purely as an actor and considers his job done.

Maybe he is sulking somewhere, more hardly hit than anyone else at how disastrous the launch turned out. He should not worry; this game has done nothing to tarnish the actor's stellar reputation.
8 But His Role Is Still Huge
Before the game's release, many were feared Keanu Reeves would have a small role and that his involvement was mostly for marketing. Upon release, all worries about this were assuaged. Keanu Reeves plays a major role as Johnny Silverhand, being beside the player at all times once he is introduced. A host of other problems plague the game, but a lack of Keanu is not one of them.
7 Maybe The Order Has Changed
Few celebrities have as many cameos and parts in games as Keanu Reeves. In addition to his Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, he is a skin in Fortnite and John Wick is in Payday 2. While the actor's involvement is the biggest in Cyberpunk 2077, many probably feel the open-world RPG from CD Projekt Red is now the worst of the three titles mentioned above. Maybe that will change in the coming months as more updates improve performance.
6 Modders Can Do Anyting
With mods, anything is possible in video games. When CD Projekt Red announced Johnny Silverhand would not be a romance option, modders felt they had their work cut out for him. Upon playing the game, most feel his character should not be romanced. Johnny Silverhand already has his own love interest. He is also inhabiting the player's body, so discussing the implications of romancing Johnny Silver goes down a NSFW rabbit hole we won't jump down.
5 Probably Should Have Held The Line
People were excited for Cyberpunk 2077 before Keanu Reeves was announced as an actor. Upon his reveal at E3, the gaming world went absolutely bananas. Even those who traditionally hold back preordering games could not help themselves. Once people started playing it at launch, many started regretting purchasing it so early. Preordering is a hot issue for gamers, and Cyberpunk 2077 is certainly a case against it. CD Projekt Red should give some free goodies to early adopters as an olive branch.
4 Like A Cat
Expectations versus reality can be a nasty wakeup call. This meme showcases just how unbelievably excited people were when Keanu Reeves was announced as a major character in Cyberpunk 2077. People's eyes were widened like a cat's pupils on a pitch black night. Unfortunately, this enthusiasm was killed when jumping into the glitch-infested Night City on December 10th. To his credit, Keanu Reeves still does a great job as Johnny Silverhand. One wonders if he will step into the role again for DLC.
3 They Get Older As The Game Gets Worse
The conversation around memes and their comedic value is a long one. How long can a single image be funny and how many ideas can you connect to it before it grows tiresome?

Now that the game has been out more than a month and many are upset at its current state, some are getting sick of all the Keanu memes. It is nothing against the actor; people would just rather not be reminded of the game that so heavily disappointed them.
2 What You Don't See Is Even Worse
CG trailers are nothing new, so CD Projekt Red cannot be faulted for using one to introduce Keanu Reeves. On a powerful PC, Cyberpunk 2077 looks jaw-droppingly gorgeous, but console gamers have a visually downgraded version. However, what people do not see in the above meme is the real crime. Playing for just an hour reveals a bevy of ridiculous glitches. They would be funny if you did not pay sixty dollars to see them.
1 Why'd You Have To Kick The Dog!
Johnny Silverhand is a unique character for Keanu Reeves. He is a pompous jerk who hurts a lot of people who love him, though his growth throughout Cyberpunk 2077 is perhaps the best thing about the game. However, when he sees an injustice he does what he can to right it. Given his existence as a chip in V's head, he probably feels a kinship with the robotic dog. If you hurt this artificial K-9, Johnny Silverhand will take revenge.
