Liverpool player Diogo Jota reveals he is the number one FIFA player in the world after going 30-0 in the FUT Champions Weekend League.

While Liverpool player Diogo Jota did have an impressive start following his £41 million move from the Wolverhampton Wanderers, he has been sidelined after suffered a leg injury in a UEFA Champions League match against Midtjylland last December. In the meantime, it appears the 24-year-old professional soccer player has been putting his recovery time to good use by becoming number one in the world in FIFA 21.

Jota posted an Instagram photo of his performance in the Ultimate Team mode of FIFA 21, where he went 30-0 in the FUT Champions Weekend League. This dominating accomplishment places the Portuguese international at the top of the FUT Champions leaderboard on PlayStation. Following his achievement, Jota posted a photo on his social media accounts of his FUT lineup.

Besides having four Icon cards in Ronaldo, Eusebio, Gullit, and Vieira, the former Wolves forward also has a 99-rated Pro Player card of himself. These special cards are given to professional soccer players who play FIFA 21 by EA. Notably, Jota also has Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as both his real-life boss and his coach for his virtual team.

For many players, such a lineup would either cost an incredible amount of coins or require a ridiculous level of luck, with many FIFA 21 players having to make do with budget players. Jota earns a considerable salary at Liverpool, not to mention the English club having paid Wolves a considerable amount for his services. With Jota set to return from his injury soon, there may be an opportunity for other players to take his spot as the best FIFA player on PlayStation.

Despite increasing criticism from fans and critics alike for its negligence of single-player modes and reliance on microtransactions, FIFA 21 continues to be a commercial crown jewel for EA. The latest entry in the long-running franchise continues to dominate sales charts, especially in the United Kingdom.

FIFA 21 is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It will release for Stadia on March 17.
