Wondering which game to pick up next for your Nintendo Switch? Why not turn to your zodiac sign for the answer?

Games under Nintendo's banner are often seen as all being strictly for children, with their bright and colorful worlds and a general focus on lighter topics of heroism and silly humor. However, this couldn't be further from the truth, particularly in recent years with the prevalence of Astral Chain, Bayonetta, and The Legend of Zelda taking a much darker look at game narratives on the Switch.

These titles, as well as past games like Super Metroid and Earthbound, add some breadth of appeal to Nintendo's games that makes them approachable for a much wider audience, which also makes it easier to see what kind of titles that gamers would enjoy based on their personality traits or, if you subscribe to the belief, the zodiac.

12 Aries: Age of Calamity

Those born under Aries are a dynamic group and eager to dive headlong into any challenge, which makes Hyrule Warrior: Age of Calamity the perfect titles for those gamers. Taking place in an alternate timeline 100 years in the past, it answers the question of what would have happened if Link and the Champions actually managed to stop the Great Calamity from destroying Hyrule before the events of Breath of the Wild. The fast-paced nature of the gameplay, as well as the need to always be on guard in battle, are traits that any Aries will welcome in their gaming experience.

11 Taurus: Super Mario Odyssey

When it comes to video game consoles and their franchises, none are as dependable as their respective mascots. Not only is Mario a dependable license, but the games featuring the plumber also span across many different genres, embracing the creative side of video games wherever possible. This makes Super Mario Odyssey the perfect game for Taurus gamers, who are both dependable when the chips are down and creative enough to see an alternative solution to any problem, something that every good platformer requires of its player base.

10 Gemini: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Geminis are generally expressive and versatile, able to change up their tactics on the fly whenever necessary. While the Switch has quite a few tactical games in its library, none suit a Gemini more than Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, the crossover that no one expected would actually work but turned out to be one of the Switch's best games. Taking the tactical combat elements of games like X-Com and coating it in a goofy, cartoonish aesthetic, there's no reason that a Gemini shouldn't at least check this game out.

9 Cancer: Pikmin 3 Deluxe

A Cancer's intuition and compassion are what sets them apart from all other zodiac signs, giving them a unique and protective nature that few other signs possess. While there aren't as many games on the Switch that force the player into a strictly protective role, one game that does fit this description is Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

While the Pikmin series hasn't been the most popular of Nintendo's franchises, it did well enough to spawn several sequels and as well as having Pikmin 3 ported over to the Switch alongside several other Wii U titles.

8 Leo: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

It's fairly well expected by the gaming community that many Japanese developed titles will be a little overdramatic in terms of either gameplay or story, particularly when it comes to the likes of the Final Fantasy or Yakuza series. This drama is something that those born under Leo know all too well, as it is a trait that often defines their personality alongside their fiery and outgoing natures. With this in mind, the over the top brawler Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the perfect title for a Leo to sink their teeth into, particularly now that Sephiroth is a playable character.

7 Virgo: Yoshi's Crafted World

Yoshi titles are often steeped in a sense of loyalty to Mario and Luigi, having raised them as children in some iterations of their games while also using their unique powers in a practical, though often silly way. This makes Yoshi's Crafted World a great pick for any Virgos, as the gentle and loyal nature of the Yoshis, alongside the sometimes deceptively difficult platforming puzzles, makes for an engaging gameplay experience.

6 Libra: Pokemon Sword & Shield

If there's one thing that defines the mainline Pokemon series, it's the social aspect that has allowed Game Freak and Nintendo to continue to ship two different copies of the same game for the last 25 years. This social aspect is what makes Pokemon Sword & Shield the perfect game for any Libra, as they are generally a social group of people who find it difficult to be alone for long periods of time and the need to interact with other players will fulfill this need in spades.

5 Scorpio: Fire Emblem Three Houses

The Fire Emblem series, while not being the most popular Nintendo franchise, has one of the most dedicated and passionate fanbases in all of gaming, which is something that any Scorpio can understand on a personal level. While there are a few Fire Emblem games on the Switch, Three Houses is the one that definitely will draw a Scorpio's attention the most.

Playing a Fire Emblem game often requires some degree of stubbornness to approach, as players often have to attempt battles multiple times, all while risking the lives of their units, in order to push forward and progress with the game, a personality trait that defines those born under Scorpio.

4 Sagittarius: Bayonetta 2

Although she didn't start out as a Nintendo character, Bayonetta quickly became a staple series for Nintendo fans following the release of the Wii U and Switch exclusive Bayonetta 2. The extroverted and sickeningly optimistic protagonist might also be something of a joker compared to most other Umbra Witches, as well as just about every other character in the series, but that's exactly why a Sagittarius will love Bayonetta 2. The main character is personally relatable to them based on their zodiac's personality traits.

3 Capricorn: Breath of the Wild

There are few games as tough as nails on the Switch as Breath of the Wild, particularly if gamers are attempting to tackle its Master Mode, but that's exactly why Capricorns will love the biggest Zelda game of all time. Requiring discipline and tenacity that only a Capricorn can muster, Breath of the Wild demands players take its world seriously, or risk being disemboweled by a stray Bokoblin on the road to Hyrule Castle.

2 Aquarius: Astral Chain

For the most part, Nintendo has played it fairly safe when it comes to introducing new series to its line-up, though that has changed in recent years with the addition of several new IPs, including Astral Chain. Although the game borrows heavily from the likes of Chaos Legion and other fast-paced hack-and-slash games, the originality of its world and uncompromising approach to the question of how far to push science are both aspects of the game that those born under Aquarius will find engaging, as this often reflects their own personality as well.

1 Pisces: Paper Mario: The Origami King

Although not quite back on track with the quality of past Paper Mario titles, The Origami King is a step in the right direction while still retaining its own artistic vision. A big surprise for many gamers who picked up the game was in the depth of its characters, as it was expected that Mario games didn't take this approach to storytelling anymore and went for a generally broader appeal. Both this vision and its characters are the reason why a Pisces will love the latest entry in the Paper Mario series, despite its departure from previous entries.
