Destiny 2: Beyond Light launched on Nov 10, 2020, bringing Season of the Hunt with it, as well as many quality-of-life updates and changes for its many Guardians. Guardians got true next-gen console updates to their existing versions of the game, a new destination to explore called Europa, and the new Stasis subclass, which also changed the way Guardians look at subclass customization.
Season of the Hunt is ending, bringing in a new season, Season of the Chosen. The upcoming Season of the Chosen will be launching on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. As with every seasonal launch or major update in Destiny 2, Guardians can expect some maintenance surrounding the weekly reset on Tuesday, February 9, as well as Update 3.1.0.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light will start maintenance at 8:00 AM PST on February 9. This will impact Guardians who use companion app features. Guardians can expect to be taken offline at 8:45 AM PST. Destiny 2: Beyond Light Update 3.1.0 will start rolling out across all platforms and regions at 9:00 AM PST. When Guardians have finished downloading (and copying) the update on their respective platforms, they can launch Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Season of the Chosen. Destiny 2 maintenance is expected to conclude at 10:00 AM PST. Guardians experiencing issues with the 3.1.0 update, after 10:00 AM PST, should restart their console and try downloading the update again.
With the success of Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt, many Guardians will be eager to jump into the new seasonal content as soon as they can. After all, Guardians have stepped into a war with the Cabal and are ready to get to taking out their command, one by one. Due to the excitement of destroying another Cabal threat, Guardians may experience a queue when trying to load into Destiny 2.
Empress Caiatl awaits Guardians in Season of the Chosen. After Zavala refused her alliance, Caiatl has called for battle against the Guardians. With some reprised Destiny 1 strikes, and the new Battlegrounds game mode, Guardians will get to engage in ritual combat against Caiatls’s chosen warriors. A full calendar of events awaits Guardians during Season of the Chosen.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light brought Guardians Stasis. Season of the Chosen is bringing Guardians new Aspects for their Stasis subclasses. Guardians can also expect new things to do and new weapons to chase, such as Ticcuu’s Divination, an exotic recurve bow that charges multiple Solar arrows that can track several targets at once. There is a new add-clearing bow in town to challenge the Trinity Ghoul.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
