Call of Duty Mobile has thus far impressed the Call of Duty community by combining the best elements across the franchise. While many fans have enjoyed the maps, weapons, operators, and game modes, there are still a few features that some believe the game lacks. Among these, one key-element that many Call of Duty Mobile players have asked for may never come to the free-to-play title.
Throughout many different Call of Duty titles, players have powered through the weapon tiers in hopes of unlocking an exclusive skin. Once Call of Duty Mobile fans noticed that the beloved skin was not present in the game, the developers begin to be filled with requests for it to be added to the game. In a recent developer update, the team at Call of Duty Mobile has clarified their position and given fans a final answer regarding the Dark Matter weapon camo.

On Reddit, the Call of Duty Mobile team released their February 5th community update. While the update provided a long list of upcoming content and featured community contributions, the developers also use it as a chance to answer community questions. In the comments, Reddit user RD-JOEL asks about the Dark Camo, and to their surprise, Call of Duty Mobile replied.
While they acknowledge that they too love the Dark Matter camo, they point out that with Call of Duty Mobile having Diamond and Damascus skins, there are already reward-based progression skins. Due to this, they have implemented the Dark Matter skin in a different way and are not currently sure how they plan to use it in the future. For the moment, Call of Duty Mobile has no plans to add the skin as a weapon unlock any time soon.
With no future plans to add Dark Matter to Call of Duty Mobile, fans can only find the skin on two previously added weapons. The ICR-1 and Razorback are able to wear the Dark Matter camo, which is a limited selection based on Call of Duty: Black Ops titles that allow its use on all weapons.
Call of Duty Mobile will continue to add interesting and unique content to the game in every season. While Dark Matter may not be a present concern for the developers, it may still make an appearance in later updates as a surprise addition to the popular mobile shooter. Either way, fans are sure to continue requesting Dark Matter alongside other favorite features from the Call of Duty franchise.
Call of Duty Mobile is available on iOS and Android devices.
