Take-Two Interactive still intends to go through with its goal from 2020 of releasing 93 video games in the next five years.

Last year, Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two Interactive announced that it will release 93 video games in the next five years. After the company's recent earnings call, Take-Two reasserts that it will move forward with its plan to deliver the 93 new games, along with a few other details.

Take-Two Interactive originally stated the 93 games would be a lineup of 63 "core experiences," 17 "mid-core games," and 12 "casual/arcade" games across various platforms. During the earnings call, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff said that the number was a "snapshot" during that point, and the company is still moving forward with creating a large number of new games. While the company hasn't made any new updates or official announcements on those titles, he's still confident in the company's progress in reaching that goal.

Slatoff continued to run down the number of games Take-Two intends to make as part of the 93 games lineup. They're the same numbers as previously mentioned, however, he does provide a few extra details on what types of games the company expects they could be. Slatoff expects that 47 of the game releases will be based on existing game IP, with the rest being brand new. There are 72 planned titles for consoles, PC, and streaming services with seven games crossing over into the mobile platform.

Among the 93 games, 23 are expected to be mobile games only with 67 planned to be major "premium" releases and 26 will be free-to-play. During that time, Take-Two has released several new game content through its subsidiaries. Some of the new releases come from 2K Games such as XCOM: Chimera Squad, the release of Mafia: Definitive Edition, and various other games. However, Slatoff mentions that not all of the recent content counts as part of the 93 new games.

It's unclear how many of the currently released games from the last year count towards the actual 93 games Take-Two intends to release. It's possible the re-release of certain major games such as Borderlands 3 on the next-generation consoles may count, since it comes from the existing Borderlands IP, though it easily could not since it's a re-release of the game.

Some speculate that upcoming games such as the delayed Kerbal Space Program 2 or the potential Grand Theft Auto 6 sequel will count as part of the 93 new titles. It's likely that the company will release an update on these titles and their progress later in its fiscal year. For the moment, Take-Two Interactive is still confident that it will be able to deliver players 93 games across the next five years.
