Many fans believe that PS Plus provides Destruction AllStars a great platform to shine. While the exact number of active subscriptions isn't known, the service has a massive audience to show for itself, as it is the only way gamers can play online games on Sony's platform. Since most modern games have online elements to them, having a PS Plus subscription is almost a necessity for most gamers.
The subscription has proved monumental to the success of games like Fall Guys. This battle-royale game exploded in popularity last year which can mostly be attributed to its free availability on the platform, which allows gamers to try out the game for a while. If they don't like it, as reviews are necessarily favorable, then there's no love lost. If they do like it, it's free to keep, and nothing can beat a free games.
As it stands right now, most of the critical reception towards the game is along the lines of "Solid foundation, not enough content to keep engaged." This has mostly resulted in mediocre Destruction AllStars review scores across the board with a 65 on Metacritic. While this wouldn't normally be good for a full-priced game as cautious gamers would refrain from buying it right now, it isn't such a grave matter in the case of Destruction AllStars. Most gamers, irrespective of the mediocre scores, will most likely be drawn towards the seemingly fun gameplay, which in turn would give the developer loads of feedback on exactly what fronts the game is lacking at this point.
Using that, the developers can release future updates for Destruction AllStars to firstly improve the most lacking aspects, such as allowing friends to play against each other and the like. As the game matures over time, the developers can also plan to release newer content updates to placate to the most dedicated audience and also utilize the feedback to invite newer players onto the platform.
Destruction AllStars is available now on PS5.
