Call of Duty: Warzone fans have a new target as a popular blueprint comes under fire for possibly being a pay-to-win item among the in-game armory.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans are once again calling foul against another blueprint option within the game. While Call of Duty: Warzone strives to only offer cosmetic items, certain blueprints have been found to be exceptionally stronger than the standard available choices. These blueprints are being called out as pay-to-win by the community, but not everyone agrees.

Recently, a Call of Duty: Warzone MAC-10 blueprint was found to be stronger than the standard MAC-10. This blueprint was only available through the in-game store, and thus fans thought that it was a purposeful attempt to provide an advantage to paying players. While the blueprint has received a nerf, a new Call of Duty: Warzone weapon is getting unfavorable attention from the game's community.

A Reddit post by aur0n has brought to the community attention that there is a difference in scopes for the HDR. One common Call of Duty: Warzone item is the Oceanographer blueprint, which can be purchased through the in-game store. In the scope examples, the standard HDR sight blacks out surrounding views while the store version allows for peripheral vision. While the images showcase a definite difference between the sights, the community is divided over whether or not this can be considered pay-to-win content.

For an item or weapon to be pay-to-win, it has to provide a definite advantage to the player. While increased peripheral vision is helpful, it does not offer that big of an advantage for players. Still, Call of Duty: Warzone sniper fans may embrace the difference as a meta staple now that this feature has been brought to light.

The last time the Call of Duty: Warzone fans declared something pay-to-win, it was the Roze Rook skin. This skin allows players to camp in dark locations, and due to its color scheme, they appear nearly invisible. Just like the Oceanographer blueprint, these items have been available for a long time, and only now are they the topic of possible exploitation.

While the community continues to debate the Oceanographer's usefulness, the developers are busy repairing other issues. Pay-to-win weapons are currently not a priority, especially if the game's community can not agree on what is pay-to-win. Call of Duty: Warzone fans will most likely have the Oceanographer skin available for some time, and only when it is exploited could the item be considered a problem for the game's community.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
