The pieces capture the changing aesthetic of the show from episode to episode as well as the mystery of the show that has been gradually revealed. It shows the blissful marriage of the 1950s, Wanda's discovery of the drone in the 1960s, the surprise pregnancy of the 1970s, and finally, the reveal that S.W.O.R.D. has been monitoring this bizarre experiment from the outside this entire time. The pieces also indicate the way in which the show has gotten darker as the story progresses, which begs the question of how much further it will all go.
The retro comic book look of the pieces is also fitting for the show, not only because of how it plays with different nostalgic eras but also how it clearly draws from some popular comic storylines of the past. Many fans immediately recognized the influence of The Vision comic book series by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta. However, as the show has gone on, it is also clear they are borrowing elements from the classic House of M storyline.
With the series past its midpoint now, it seems like there are going to be even more twists and turns to come. Following the shocking reveal at the end of the last episode, it is clear that WandaVision will continue to get even more bizarre and exciting while also having a much larger impact on the overall MCU than anyone had expected.
