Bloober Team's psychological horror title The Medium was one of the most anticipated games coming into 2021. After being announced at Inside Xbox 2020, The Medium made an impact as being among the first titles announced to be optimized for the Xbox Series X and the first next-gen only title to be available day one on Xbox Game Pass. The Medium has been extremely well-received, and to celebrate, Bloober Team has released a trailer showing off these accolades.

Immediately starting the trailer, fans may notice the song accompanying the visuals is straight from The Medium soundtrack. Throughout the trailer, the song Fade plays, composed by Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski and performed by voice actress Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and voice of the antagonist "The Maw" Troy Baker. The chilling lyrics of the duet backed by a building guitar track by the genius composers really completes the trailer, much like the soundtrack completes the game.

As Bloober Team's biggest project yet, The Medium utilizes PC and Xbox Series X capabilities well. Critics have said The Medium "feels very next-gen" and is a "masterclass of mature horror." While the graphics and ever-changing environments reeled players in, the story developed by Bloober Team really hooks players in. Critics have said The Medium is an "existential dread-soaked thriller" and has a "gripping story."

Merely days after release, The Medium was considered a sales success, as Bloober Team had sold enough copies to cover production and marketing costs. However, based on the trailer released, Bloober Team may be more impressed with the reviews of the title. Although The Medium is Bloober Team's most ambitious project, the sales success and critical acclaim may lead to an even bigger project for the developer.

The Medium's ending leaves many possibilities for a sequel open, so it is possible that Bloober Team will develop another piece of the chilling story. Just recently, Bloober Team started hiring for different development roles like Combat Programmer, VFX Artist, and Concept Artists, so it seems likely the team is already working on a new project. Whether the project is The Medium sequel, or another horror title like Blair Witch or The Observer, Bloober Team is taking an ambitious approach to their future titles.

It seems Bloober Team is still enjoying the success of The Medium with the newest accolades trailer. It may bring in even more players to experience the game, as well as the beautiful soundtrack made by Silent Hills composer Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski, who also worked on other Bloober Team projects Blair Witch and The Observer.
