Simulation Safeguard is a new repeatable quest type providing good loot in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, so check out this guide for tips and tricks.

Exploring the universe of Destiny 2: Beyond Light provides players with tons of loot to equip. Any long-term fan of the series will acknowledge that a large part of this experience involves repeating quests. Recently, a weekly mission has been added to the game known as Simulation Safeguard. Since this quest rewards decent loot in Destiny 2, players will want to use this guide to learn the ropes.

As a relatively new addition, the Simulation Safeguard quest is one that occurs on Europa. To grab it, Guardians will need to speak to the Beyond Light character Variks. However, to even gain access to the mission, players have to complete one called Old Secrets. Once this is complete, the repeatable Simulation Safeguard becomes available. Just make sure the Guardian of choice meets the Power requirement of 1230.

After picking up the quest, players should head to Europa and go to the Bray Exoscience location. The first part of the mission requires defending two Ziggurat platforms. The waves will be Vex enemies, so get the best Destiny 2 weapons and gear for fighting that type. Make sure to keep as many Vex targets off the platforms as possible. Each one that manages to get on top will reduce the platform's stability. While it regenerates during clear moments, reducing stability to 0% will cause the mission to fail.

There is one way to assist with keeping the new Beyond Light Vex enemies at bay though. During the mission, keep an eye out for Vex confluxes around the sides of the area. At certain points, the conflux becomes vulnerable to damage. Unleash weapon fire upon the targets to cause any surrounding Vex to malfunction. This will cause them to freeze in place, giving Guardians ample opportunity to take out any that are nearby the Ziggurat platforms.

Continue this strategy until reaching the fourth wave of the mission. Fortunately, this provides a checkpoint, so dying will not reset players back to the beginning of the quest. Though, this is because death is very probable after this point. Instead of just Vex enemies, a final boss will appear from the portal. With a lot more health and stronger weapons, Guardians will be putting their skills to the test. Play it safe and use the new Stasis Supers to melt the boss. After the Vex enemy dies, open up the chest that spawns for some fancy loot to complete Simulation Safeguard.

These quests are designed to be tough, so plan to bring in some heavy hitter weaponry and strong armor builds to succeed.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
