Psyonix continues to support its soccer game on wheels, as the newest limted to event for Rocket League celebrates the Year of the Ox.

Rocket League is celebrating the Year of the Ox with its Lucky Lanterns in-game event. To commemorate the occasion, there will be limited time events in Rocket League, event challenges, and players have the chance to unlock themed items.

Psyonix's soccer game on wheels has been a huge success, especially since Rocket League went free to play last summer. The game continues to see ongoing support of all kinds, like the recent NFL and a Super Bowl-themed celebration event. The newest event has just kicked off, and Psyonix has just shared the details.

The Lucky Lanterns event is now live, and it will run until March 1, 2021. As far as limited-time-modes within the event, the 2v2 game Heatseeker is currently live and will last until February 22. At that point, the 3v3 mode Super Cube will take over until the end of the Lucky Lanterns event on March 1. There is also a new arena variant for fans to enjoy, Forbidden Temple (Day).

Players also have the opportunity to complete event challenges to unlock items such as the Lucky Cat and Ozzy Ox Toppers, the Lantern Lift and Cherry Blosson Boosts, the Temple Guardian Player Banner, and much more. Additionally, the in-game store has free items for a limited time, that being the Short Fuse Player banner and the Shen Avatar Border. The store will also hold purchasable items for a short time during the event.

Psyonix is continually keeping Rocket League fresh. In fact, because of a team-up with Ford, Rocket League is adding the Ford F-150 to the game in the coming days as well; right in the middle of the Lucky Lanterns event (but not as a part of the Year of the Ox celebration). Continually adding new content, limited-time events, and more is a great way to keep the player base engaged.

Rocket League is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
