The annual Steam Lunar New Year Sale is finally here, as the news makes the platform become a trending topic over on Twitter.

Earlier today, Steam started its Lunar New Year sale, which caught plenty of peoples' attention on Twitter. As usual, Steam's big discounts have the gaming community paying close attention to the deals this year's sale has to offer. The sale was announced last month, and users took the news of it going live to Twitter as soon as the Lunar New Year Sale went up.

Steam's Lunar New Year Sale is held yearly and is one of the many big sales Steam offers to its users. The Lunar New Year Sale is the first of the five annual sales Valve's platform offers. Last year, Steam celebrated the Year of the Rat event with coupons, tokens, rewards, and the usual discounts. This year, Steam also prepared special content for the occasion.

For this year's sale, Steam is celebrating the Year of the Ox from February 11 to February 15 at 10 AM PST. As part of the festivities, Steam is offering a free animated Ox Sticker for each day of the event. Other items of this year's event include an avatar frame, profile and mini-profile backgrounds, and avatars. Of course, the main attraction of Steam's celebrations is the sales themselves.

Unfortunately, the Lunar New Year Sale does not last as long as some other of Steam's yearly sales. Nonetheless, this year's sale is a great opportunity to save money, as it offers bundles for titles like Half-Life and Portal, as well as discounts on games like Dishonored 2. Steam is also offering sales recommendations for every account so that users can take the most advantage of the discounts.

Most of the activity on Twitter making Steam's sale a trending topic includes mentions of the games available on sale. Both personal accounts and those dedicated to particular titles or studios have been sharing the discounts in an effort to promote some of the titles available on Steam. Some tweets also offer recommendations of interesting titles that users consider are worth checking out.

Usually, Steam's sales are well received by the platform users because some games can have over 75% discount even for games that are fairly popular. The yearly sale is a great opportunity for PC gamers to get their hands on their favorite game or purchase several titles at the same price they would get one of them at the usual price. Because of this, even though Steam's sales tend to offer extremely good deals, they are known for making the gaming community overspend.
