With the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange sequel currently in production in the UK, a familiar face from the franchise has taken to Instagram to share an update to eager fans. Benedict Wong, who stars as Wong alongside Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange, posted a photo of himself from behind the scenes on the movie's set, adding to the already-overwhelming excitement for the upcoming movie.
In the photo, Wong is fully equipped with all the necessary PPE for COVID-19 safety, including a face mask and face shield. He's also wearing a pair of red and blue Spider-Man tights, though it's almost certain that they are just for off-camera wear (despite how cool it would be to see a Spider-Wong). For the caption, Wong wrote: "Behind The Scenes @marvelstudios Dr. Strange and the Madness of the Multi-schedule!" with the hashtag #spiderwong added to the end.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is one of several MCU projects that Marvel Studios has underway for its Phase 4 of development. Wong had already confirmed the return of his character to Collider, saying that Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson had replied to his tweet assuring him that he would return in the sequel film. He also admitted that he did not fully know the title before it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con, but he did have "a few little inklings" prior to the confirmation.
In addition to Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor's Baron Mordo and Rachel McAdams' Dr. Christine Palmer will reportedly make a return as well. Elizabeth Olson's Wanda Maximoff is also set to appear, with the actress recently telling Vanity Fair that the transition from WandaVision to Doctor Strange 2 feels like "it's all so earned."
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, teased a few details on what fans can expect to see in the Doctor Strange sequel. When he confirmed the film's title last month, he explained that the film will showcase the "connections" in the multiverse, with Doctor Strange taking on that responsibility in the most direct way. He did not, however, specify exactly what those connections were.
Aside from Doctor Strange 2, Marvel Studios also has WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Loki, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Seven Rings, What If...?, Eternals, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel on its 2021 schedule. Needless to say, this year is going to full of Marvel goodness.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set for release on March 25, 2022.
