Justice League actor Ray Fisher has once again slammed director Joss Whedon on his Twitter account. This time he has offered an explanation as to why Whedon and other higher-ups at Warner Bros. have not sued him yet for his continued accusations against them. It’s because he claims to be “telling the truth”.
Since July 2020, when Fisher first accused Whedon of abusive behavior on the set of Justice League, the actor who plays Cyborg has taken to social media multiple times to express himself and his frustrations against the studio’s enabling of Whedon. He has also spoken up against DC Films President Walter Hamada, referring to him as the “most dangerous kind of enabler” in a tweet posted in December, demanding that the latter owes the Justice League actors an apology.

An investigation launched by WarnerMedia over Fisher’s allegations later revealed that “remedial action” had been taken. The same was confirmed by Fisher in one of his tweets, but while he seemed content at the time, he later expressed that the focus of the investigation had shifted from harassment at the workplace to the boss covering up said harassment. A detailed statement he shared on Twitter accused Hamada of hiding the facts to “protect his friend” with his latest claim of why he hasn't been sued yet adding to his narrative so far.
Amidst the multiple allegations by Fisher, some former Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel cast members have also come forward and shared their experiences of abuse at the hands of Whedon, with some offering support to their co-stars. It all began when Charisma Carpenter, who appeared on both shows, offered her support to Fisher and recalled how Whedon was "casually cruel" on set, indulged in fat-shaming, and had a passive-aggressive attitude. Buffy actor Michelle Trachtenberg stated that Whedon's behavior had been traumatizing for her as a teenager.
As the story continues to unfold, there has been no comment so far from Whedon or any of the DC or WarnerMedia employees that Fisher has addressed in his latest tweet. If what Fisher is claiming is in fact true, then WarnerMedia seems to have a bigger issue at hand than they first anticipated. It remains to be seen how his latest claims will affect the investigation and the fate of his professional career. His character, Cyborg, has already been written out of the upcoming The Flash movie, ending his DC career. For now, Fisher will be seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, with a lot of importance being placed on his character, too.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be available to stream on HBO Max starting March 18, 2021.
