While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has some solid, fully original multiplayer maps like Satellite and Cartel, it has some truly despised locations like Miami as well. As such, some Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans may only want to play the game’s remasters, and Treyarch will be adding a special playlist aimed at these players soon.
So far, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War features three remakes. Like with all other Black Ops games, Nuketown has been remade inside the latest title, taking on a rundown look that removes the polished design of the original testing site. Two Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 classics have been brought back as well, with Raid and Express both included in the game’s map pool. This week, players will be able to enjoy these three maps on repeat.

Much like separate 24/7 playlists have been added for Express, Raid, and Nuketown, this moshpit playlist will only have these three remastered maps available to play on. A great bit of fan service for old school players, players can begin playing Throwback Moshpit starting on February 18. With this date falling on a Thursday, it means that Treyarch will be changing the rest of the game’s playlists around too, with a few other limited time modes being added to the active lineup.
Players can see more of Nuketown in Gunfight Blueprints, as the iconic map will join the other four 2v2 Gunfight maps to make for a larger lineup. Only blueprint weapons will be used, giving players the chance to try out random gun setups from the in-game store. The second special mode is Snipers Only Moshpit, with the popular 6v6 variant limited players to the long-range weapon class. Scorestreak weapons such as the War Machine have also been restricted from use in Snipers Only, guaranteeing proper sniper battles inside the Moshpit mode.
While 2v2 is popular and snipers will love the chance to duke it out with some equally skilled opponents, Throwback Moshpit will undoubtedly be the most exciting addition for longtime fans. Though Treyarch did not list what modes would be available, the announcement that “a variety of respawn modes” would be included narrows down the list. With VIP Escort and Search and Destroy ruled out, players can expect Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch to be in the playlist’s rotation.
While this playlist will allow more people to see Raid’s confusing map layout firsthand, it should also provide hours’ worth of fun gameplay. With it only lasting a week, though, players will want to get the most out of this special Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War moshpit.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
