The ever-changing game of Blaseball is returning shortly after its 11th season closed in October, and the creators have even weirder changes in store for the browser game. At its core, Blaseball is a baseball simulator that took over the internet last year. However, talk to anyone who grew obsessed with it, and Blaseball is much more than that.
Hourly games are "played out" in the system, which determines the winner based on players' stats. Contrary to a normal game of baseball, each Blaseball player has a minimum of 31 stats at any given time that can change as much as these players can die during a game of Blaseball thanks to the voting system. For example, Shakespearianism is a stat that affects pitching skill, and weather conditions include raining peanuts and solar eclipses, mechanics that have been added and changed by the players.

After a few months of hiatus, this absurdist internet browser game will return on March 1 with Season 12. Not much was detailed alongside the announcement, though the Blaseball Commissioner's tweet seems to suggest something sinister. However, "concessions" are being added, which seemingly impact the voting system in some way, and "wills" is a new feature that helps teams strategize around the constantly changing rules and elements of Blaseball.
Previously, The Game Band said that Blaseball is created by the fans as much as it's created by the creators themselves. Whenever the community comes up with some strange request, the developers work to make that thrive within Blaseball in some way, such as with the resurrection of Jaylen Hotdogfingers, an undead pitcher for the San Francisco Lovers.
Blaseball Season 12 begins on March 1.
